Texas firmly believes it missed the CFP last year because it played and lost to Ohio State in Week 1, completely glossing over an inexcusably bad loss to 4-8 Florida later in the year, so I'm not surprised the UT administration is mulling over whether or not to play Notre Dame.
Missouri is the reason the SEC is a rankings ponzi-scheme.
They beat absolutely no one, and undeservedly get ranked all year. Every SEC team that beats them gets to claim a great win. They lose a bowl game they claim didn't matter. Get hyped for next season. Repeat scheme.

"We don't want Cinderellas. We want the best teams playing each other at the end... The NCAA basketball tournament is a joke. It's the dumbest tournament and the least fair tournament in all of sports."
So many people want to make this CFP debate about ND vs Bama vs Miami vs BYU.
It isn’t.
It’s about whether the committee manipulated the process to reach a desired result. The result might be correct — but that doesn’t excuse how they got there.
Process matters, even when you like the outcome.
The College Football Playoff selection committee really screwed up this time.
The process has to work for the CFP to earn and keep our trust. This one didn’t. This one made a mockery of the whole sport.
