Bruno Fernandes officially becomes the third player in Manchester United history with 100+ goals & 100+ assists in all competitions (105 & 100). He did it in 318 appearances.
For context; Leo Messi did it in 319 for Barcelona, Cristiano Ronaldo did it in 325 for Real Madrid.

This is ridiculous. A man has an opinion right or wrong. But we will let Newcastle’s owner, who has literally ordered murders of people into grounds. Makes sense 😂
That’s a seat in my block of the Stretford End going for £349. I pay £43 a game. £300 mark up to have a meal at a cricket ground before kick off…
This is why so many PL clubs are looking to get rid of their season ticket holders. It’s only going to get worse.
In a rare move, Joel & Avram Glazer are flying into Manchester (maybe already here) for a meeting with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, to be held at Carrington.
Key points:
- Meeting moved from Monaco to Manchester to brief Michael Carrick.
- First visit to the refurbished £50m Carrington (funded by INEOS, not Glazers).
- Crisis talks on manager turmoil & missing sponsors (there does seem to be a struggle attracting sponsors for training kit/sleeve sponsor)
- Fan protests planned for Feb 1.
I wonder whether they'll be at the derby on Saturday... If they're there, they need to know exactly how we feel about them.

Finished 15th last season. Denied European football because we couldn't beat Spurs. Knocked out of the league cup in our first game by Grimsby Town. Knocked out of the FA Cup in our first game by Brighton. Manager sacked mid season with zero plan. Interim manager is still not confirmed and we have City next and Arsenal after that. It's the 11th of January and the season all but over, yet again.
Utterly shambolic.
Amorim referencing Neville in his final presser tells you everything: the hierarchy don’t have the minerals to withstand criticism from a man who’s sacked 8 managers in 11 years and had a 35% win rate as Valencia’s worst ever coach.
That’s alarm bells.
Shame United's ex players couldn't talk about how the Glazers have lowered the standards of our football club and let us rot instead of ripping in to young strikers (Sesko) who hasn't started 15 games yet for this football club..
United's earnings release has been announced.
The immidiate takeaway is the employee remuneration cost, which for the quarter totaled £73.6m. What does this means? A few adjustments must be made:
🔺Since the period in question is 1 July to 30 September, the £73.5m figure includes:
-includes 9 weeks of wages to Jadon Sancho
-includes 3 weeks of wages to Marcus Rashford
-includes 10 weeks of wages to Andre Onana
-includes 9 weeks of wages to Rasmus Hojlund
-includes 9 weeks of wages to Antony
-includes 8 weeks of wages to Garnacho
+does not include 3 weeks of wages to Mbuemo
+does not include 5 weeks of wages to Sesko
At the bottom line, its reasonable to expect that United at the very least paid wages of net 5m more to players in Q1 than what is reflected today on the squad.
🔺This implies that the total wages for all employees and directors of United will total 68m * 4 quarters = 272m for the year.
In 22/23 -- United paid 125m in non player wages. That was -- hardly surprising -- the most in the PL. Liverpool paid 121m and City 100m (City buys services from City Football Group which replaces the need for many employees, that are not represented in the 100m figure).
It is hard to know for certain how much Ineos has cut from the 125m non player wages. Per 30 June 2025, the number of employees were down to 932 from 1,140 on 30 June 2024. If we assume that 15 percent of the non-player wage bill has been cut, which is very cautious, non player wages would be 164m.
City's wage bill will be around £440m this season (assuming its up from £423m with CWC, new CL etc). With £100m going to non-player staf -- the players get £340m. I.e. in all likelihood City's player wage bill is 2x United's. Liverpool will be around that mark too. Chelsea and Arsenal will be a bit behind.
🔺So United is paying 50% in wages of City, Liverpool and co. Is that a Squad depth thing or does all players across the board earn 50% less?
United of course has a little less depth than Arsenal, but not necessarily compared to Liverpool and City.
What this with 100 percent certainty means is that if an Elliot Andersson signs with United instead of City or Liverpool, he will earn about 50 percent less. Even if we just count on 150k less a week, it adds up 37.5m less over 5 years.
🔺It is quite clear that City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham has left United in the dust when it comes to the ability to pay wages to players. United can however still compete with Villa and Newcastle.
🔺I am very critical of Ineos and the Glazers -- and this is the big reason for it. United's player wage bill hasn't been top 3 in the PL since 2018. That of course shows on the performance on the pitch. On top of this -- we have massacred the wage bill yearly since 22/23. and we are now down to 7-8th in the league.
Ineos and the Glazers plan is clearly to build a title winning side spending a fraction of the other contenders. Can that be done? Of course it "can". But it is extremely difficult. Our management must outperform City's management, Liverpool's management, Chelsea's management and Arsenal's management by a wide wide margin in the coming years to even come close. It is simple math. They are spending twice as much as us and got a big head start. Wilcox must literary buy twice as good players as they do for half the money to even get into the race.
🔺If our management performs as well as our rivals, not better and not worse, a reasonable expectations is that Project 150 is complete and utter nonsense and that the club has a shot at settling down around 6-7th in the PL. But I mean -- its important to remember that a club like Newcastle is the richest in football. 6-7th is assuming we are ahead of them and Villa. If Berrada and Wilcox's performance isn't excellent in the coming years, 6-7 easily becomes 8-12 so to speak.
I'll support United regardless. But what I really object to is the message to the fans that the ship is steered in a direction which will turn it into a contender and that there is a reasonable plan to compete for a title in less than 24 months -- which practically have killed all protests against the Glazers. So far -- absolutely nothing is pointing towards United being on that trajectory. The debt is growing faster than ever. We will likely be in a worse position next summer compared to this summer.
And look who’s with Luke Littler, our anonymous Director of Fan Engagement 🤣 guy has just absolutely nothing since getting the role other than getting into bed with the owners! Nothing against Littler btw, bloke is a legend
Ah, so that’s why the away game data is no longer being published… Nothing to do with staffing issues or social media feedback after all.
Always good to know there are still a few people inside the club who believe the fans deserve to know the truth. I certainly won't be disclosing who, so please don't ask.
I know exactly what you're doing now. 👀
