1688 Tip #1
Never choose a supplier just because they’re the cheapest.
Check:
• How long they’ve been on the platform
• Customer reviews
• Repeat buyers
• Factory verification
Saving ₦20,000 because an item is cheap isn’t worth receiving unusable goods.
People keep asking what I meant by this.
Okay, fine. I'll give a detailed explanation below.
If a vendor tells you any iPhone uses "physical+ e-SIM," you should make sure to confirm the specific region of that iPhone.
Different iPhones are usually made for different regions and their features are not always the same, based on government regulations and unique market preferences.
If you want to know the region your iPhone is meant for, go to your phone's Settings > General > About > then check the model number.
Whatever the model number ends with indicates the region.
1.▫️ LL/A is for the United States:
From the 13 Series downwards, you can still find physical + e-SIM. But starting from the iPhone 14 series, all US models completely lack physical SIM trays and rely entirely on dual eSIM.
So, if a vendor sells an LL/A iPhone 14, 15, 16, or 17 for you, and it has a physical SIM slot, rest assured that phone has been converted. And it'll likely start having issues later.
2.▫️CH/A (China mainland) & ZA/A or ZP/A (Hong Kong / Macao):
Uses two Physical Nano-SIM.
The downside is that these iPhone models usually lack some features such as FaceTime audio and group chat, and the battery also tends to be smaller.
3.▫️ J/A (Japan):
eSIM & Nano-SIM.
These models still contain a physical SIM slot, but for regulatory reasons, the camera shutter sound cannot be turned off, even when the phone is muted.
4.▫️ AE/A or AB/A (Middle East - UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc.):
eSIM & Nano-SIM. This region's models historically has restrictions on certain video-calling apps like FaceTime.
5.▫️ HN/A or IN/A (India):
eSIM & Nano-SIM.
6.▫️ B/A or UK/A (UK & Ireland); F/A (France); C/A or CL/A (Canada); ZA/A (Singapore/Malaysia):
eSIM & Nano-SIM. These serve as the standard "Global" versions that retain both a physical SIM tray and eSIM support.
⚠️ In addition to all these, the first letter of your model number also matters.
- M indicates a brand new device.
- F is an officially refurbished model.
- N is an official Apple replacement unit.
- P is a personalized/engraved device.
I hope you understand now.

If you know eBay, there's a Chinese platform just like that.
Many "UK-used" iPhones, Samsung, or laptops sold in Computer Village actually didn't come from London.
Some of them came from this platform called Xianyu, also known as Goofish or Idle Fish: a used-goods marketplace under Alibaba.
Once you know how to navigate your way on this platform, you can get used iPhones, Samsungs, Google Pixels, cameras, laptops, and various gadgets at very low prices.
Each seller will indicate whether the gadget has issues or not, so you can decide what you want.
- Once you've picked the specific gadgets you want to buy, discuss with the sellers, and confirm what you're buying are in good condition. (Don't worry, some of them understand basic English.)
- After that, you'll need a shipping agent such as Superbuy and CSSBuy to help you secure the goods and send them to your country. (I'll drop the links in the comment section.)
- The agent can even help you inspect the goods, negotiate, and pay in yuan on your behalf.
- When the items land in the agent's warehouse in China, they'll ship it to Nigeria by air or sea, depending on the mode you want. (Air is faster but costlier; sea is slower but cheaper.)
Note that this platform is completely in Chinese, so you'll need to translate. They have a website and an app on the iOS App Store.
You can log in with Taobao, Alipay or Wepay.
.......
This is for information purposes only, though.
Use wisely and responsibly, and ensure to do your own further research.
