Xbox's return to exclusives comes at one of the most difficult moments in the brand's history.
After 3,200 layoffs and a sweeping restructure, developers I spoke with described morale as being at an all-time low.
Even internally, opinion is divided over whether exclusives are the right answer. Some believe this is the only way to rebuild Xbox. Others think pulling games from PlayStation and Nintendo limits the audience at exactly the wrong time.
