Writing tip of the day: When killing off characters there needs to be a reason other then making the audience shocked or sad. It needs to advance the plot. Cause the main character(s) to take action or emphasize your stories theme. #WritingCommunity #writingtip #amwriting

I don’t know about other agents but the number of queries I get a day has skyrocketed
Don’t get me wrong, it’s awesome to have so many to look at it’s just taking me twice as long to go through them all
This means querying writers need extra patience #querytip

The second query I'm reading is a YA fantasy. The tip I'll offer from this query: make sure that you do your research on an agent BEFORE you query them. Do not broad submit. I am always so impressed when someone who queries me really nails my taste with their pitch.

The first query I'm reading is a YA fantasy that I received on referral. My first tip for querying: always make sure that your first page is as good as it can possibly be (maybe better), and represents your manuscript. It is the first thing the agent you're querying will read!
