@chancetherapper It has pushed the American idea of what church should be on every culture, race, and ethnicity that it comes in contact with (looking at history and today). And in turn, WE HAVE FAILED AT LOVING - loving our brothers and sisters in Christ and at loving nonbelievers.
@chancetherapper I think that American/white church has failed when it comes to church and Christianity in general. It has been turned into something that was never “American” in origin to what is now believed to be “the only way to do it”.
"When I am afraid,
I put my trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me?” Psalm 56:3-4
Such confidence is grown in daily wakening to the praiseworthiness of the word of God.
Greg Morse: “If the job never comes, the spouse is never found, the wound never heals, then the death of good things should make tears run their course. But the day must come when we lay aside the weight of an unrealized life, and run the actual race set before us.”
Lots of cool things happening lately but nothing compares to this. @Mrswaino and I have been waiting anxiously to announce that we have added a beautiful little boy to our family. So, I’d like to be the first to introduce Caleb Adam Wainwright to all of you! Praise the Lord!
John Piper: “Don’t just read the Bible. The devil knows the Bible by heart. He used it against Jesus. Rather, linger in God’s word, love the truth, and plead with him to open the eyes of your heart.”
Christian, no matter how desperate and alone you feel, no matter how much opposition you face, no matter how precarious your circumstances become, God has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
"Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God.” Psalm 42:5-6
