@AutumnRhodess Is pp psychosis rare or just underreported because mothers are terrified they’ll end up like Clancy (I.e. clinically worsened not helped) if they seek help?
@johnkriesel I had tremendous respect for you before I read this & am sad that this caused me to lose a bit of that respect for you. Do you think you are 1) God? 2) A witness to the horrendous atrocities that occurred? 3) a judge? You don’t know 100% of the facts. Pretending you do is arrogan
“To everyone who puts the grocery cart back, smiles at strangers, waves people ahead even when it’s their turn, practices empathy for others, actively listens with the intention to understand, is kind to animals, notices the small things, offers to help, isn’t afraid to ask people if they are okay, sends the ‘Did you make it home?’ text, feels compassion when someone else is hurting: thank you. The world needs more of you.” ~Unknown
"Your fatigue is real. Your overwhelm is real. Your exhaustion is real. Don’t feel guilty about needing breaks from a world that was never set up to protect your mental health in the first place." @MichellCClark
As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. taught us, darkness cannot drive out darkness, and hate cannot drive out hate. Only light and love can do that. So today, let’s remember our responsibilities to march hand in hand, to stand peacefully with dignity and purpose in the ongoing fight for justice. To organize. To mobilize. To vote. To believe, no matter how far away the mountaintop might feel, it is in our capacity to change our communities and our country for the better.
"Look at your hands. Think of all they’ve held, carried, and created. Now place them over your heart and think about all the times you made a difference through how deeply you care and try. You deserve far more credit than you likely give yourself.” ~Lori Deschene

Here are his top 6 strategies everyone with ADHD should know (& how to use it to your advantage): 🧵
If you graduate residency with a $3,500/month student loan payment (on a fixed 10yr term) assuming no PSLF (because who knows how long that will be around)
You need to be taking home (after taxes) at $23,000/month for that payment to feel “comfortable” (15% of take home).
The problem is, that means you need to gross around $550k per year and in 2025 there are plenty of specialties where that is not the norm.
So today, school security pulled me out mid-lesson to say there was a ‘situation’ in the hallway… I was expecting chaos. Turns out, it was my mom surprising me—then she looked at my students and said, "Please be good to my baby!"
Want to RETAIN teachers? Do THESE!

Confrontation is overwhelming for people, which is why we avoid it. But, without confronting issues, those issues will only continue.
How to Have a Healthy Confrontation:
@EDUwithEmily Ended up in the ER with pseudoseizures and was diagnosed with conversion disorder from out of control anxiety. Teaching was really my only life stressor at the time. Several medical professionals and my husband advised me to quit.
@RogersHistory And just to clarify, “free period” just means student-free. Teachers spend that precious “free” time going to the bathroom, scarfing down breakfast and/or lunch, grading, planning, crying, etc…
