Why are music platforms still stuck in the 20th century and not allowing fans to directly support artists with features like subscriptions?

In the new age of monetization on platforms like X, and YouTube, Tiktok etc there are many ways to $ your content yet musicians are lagging behind because the mindset is still mostly about pay per stream (very important of course).

Is this because the tools aren’t there on platforms for them to use or is it because the mindset needs to adapt?
