I made several specific claims: Mags drives much of the narrative and dialogue, while Marcus and Dom have long stretches where they're comparatively passive or barely speak.

If that's false, show me where.
Disagreeing with my assessment is fine. Calling me a liar requires you to actually identify the lie.

And because the multiplayer isnt even complete at launch, there wont be any real reason for players to stick around a week after launch. People will run through the campaign, play some multiplayer and move on. There are too many good games worth more time and costing less money for people to buy or even stick around.

Fair enough. 👍 If you're talking specifically about people whose entire argument is ‘women shouldn't be Gears,’ then we're talking about two different things. That's not my argument at all.

And if the inhaler storyline works for you, cool. It absolutely doesn't work for me. 😂 That's the kind of disagreement about the actual writing I'm perfectly happy to have.

@thunderthelove1 @LegionzGaming Yeah the lack of ranked or leaderboard is crazy to me. Thats basic for a game like Gears. Its been in every Gears of War game at launch as far as I can remember.

But that's exactly the problem with this argument. 😂 I've repeatedly explained what I dislike: Mags dominating the narrative and dialogue, Marcus and Dom being sidelined in a game marketed around them, the Rust Lung/inhaler storyline, mission design, pacing, and the writing generally.

You can disagree with every single criticism I just listed. That's fine. But ‘I don't agree with your reasons, therefore you must hate women’ isn't an argument.

I don't dislike Mags because she's a woman. I dislike the way Mags is written.

Exactly! I remember fondly, playing Gears with the bros on Xbox and 360 multiplayer. We played the first 3 games so much. The story was great and multiplayer was even better. Remember the chainsaw duels? The random grenades that would sneak in and blow you and your squad up, the random locust grunt that would rev up his lancer chainsaw and start trying to cut your buddy in half but would get blown up by another friend's shotgun watching his back? So good dude.

So she has Rust Lung, was literally on medical leave, and we're supposed to accept her operating on the front line while her respiratory condition becomes severe enough that the squad has to divert to her house for medication...and you think that makes my criticism weaker? 😂

And nobody said Gears can't have personal detours. Gears 2 did them brilliantly. My criticism is the writing and execution of THIS detour, and how much of E-Day's narrative revolves around Mags when this was marketed around Marcus and Dom. Those aren't the same argument.

Mostly free-to-play? 😂 You clearly haven't watched my channel. I buy and play plenty of full-priced games (none of them given to me for reviews) instead of relying on Game Pass. Besides the fact that Ive been playing games for over 30 years dude, long before "free to play" was even possible let along a thing. But even if I played nothing but F2P games, that still wouldn't magically make E-Day immune to criticism. Try addressing what I actually said.

One thing I hate about modern AAA launches is the sudden army of accounts that appears the second a game starts getting criticized. 😂

Same talking points. Same defense of every design decision. Same attacks on anyone criticizing the game. Suddenly you'd think the game was a flawless masterpiece and everyone disliking it is just a “hater.”

Whether it's sponsored promotion, access-driven coverage, or people defending a game they genuinely love, it creates this artificial-feeling push to change the conversation instead of addressing why players are unhappy.

You can't PR your way out of bad word of mouth. If the game is good, players will figure that out. If it isn't, attacking the audience isn't going to save it.

Make better games. Let the games speak for themselves. 🎮🔥

Where did I say anything about Mags being gay? Quote me. My criticisms have been about her role in the story, the writing, mission design, and Marcus and Dom being sidelined. Her sexuality has absolutely nothing to do with my argument. Disagree with my criticism all you want, but don't invent beliefs for me because you can't address what I actually said.
