Thanks Peter, this relationship is a fact of physics. But even this self limiting relationship represents the maximum potential effect of rising CO2. The net warming effect of CO2 is further diminished by the amount of water vapour in the atmosphere at any given time, cloud levels, and many other factors. Recent CO2 increases merely take earth “back to the past”. The earth had a very benign climate and was a very productive place with CO2 levels well above current levels in the long term and recent geological past.
But more importantly, the effects of such minor CO2 variations are overwhelmed by the routine glaciation cycles that occur every 125,000 years or so on earth. These are driven by the Sun (Milankovich cycles) not CO2. During the last interglacial - the Eemian - sea levels peaked about 25 feet above current levels for example, and temperatures were no doubt warmer than today, perhaps by a few degrees. We are now in the Huronian interglacial. There is no reason whatsoever why our sea levels will not still reach Eemian levels in future before the current interglacial is over.
This is all natural of course. Our climate is forever cyclical.
CO2 is a minor player in the earth’s GHG soup. It can contribute to some variability but is not a driver of climate change. It’s the Sun and the orbital cycles that drives climate.
@DianneSaxe Take a look at what is happening in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and all the rest of the EU. An invasion is underway. Crime, violence, economic destruction. It is already happening to Canada now. Time to wake up princess.
@AHousefather@MarkJCarney This man says he is an MP but doesn’t admit he is a Liberal on his twitter account.
Deception.
He’ll make a great Carney man…
@PeterDClack CO2 levels FOLLOW temperature, cannot lead. Oceans (massive CO2 capacity) are the source & sink for atmospheric CO2 fluctuations during glaciations/recoveries throughout geological history. Oceans cannot release CO2 unless they are WARMED FIRST. Physics 101.
@benonwine Wrong question.
The climate has always changed
The question is does CO2 cause or follow climate change?
The answer is follows.
Physics 101
Even god can’t make the oceans release CO2 without first warming them
@RebelNewsOnline@ezralevant No where is there any documentation that warns customers they need to provide ANY information to claim a prize. Common law requires such conditions to be clearly disclosed.
Not disclosing withheld prize numbers smacks of corruption. Who audits this…???
@CTVNews Bravo Moe. The key words are deployable & timely. Saskatchewan is almost over the peak now, all on its own. If you need a few extra resources in the short term look to friendlies who can and will help you out. Not to that contemptible snake in Ottawa who can't and won't.
@CTVNews Lets call this for what it is. The conduct of these two men is disgusting. They will do the aboriginal cause no favor with acts treachery like this. Trust is hard to earn, much more easily lost.
