$BE is currently up 10% in pre-market. I listened to the earnings call this morning, and these are my main takeaways.
- On Financial exposure to delays: CFO Simon Edwards clarified that contracts have strong protections and that equipment is flexible enough to be redeployed if specific projects are delayed. He also emphasized that the 2026 revenue guidance is not dependent on any single project.
On a personal note, analysts are worried about potential missed revenue from $ORCL Project Jupiter. I don't know exactly what is in the contract for this project, but normally 70%-90% of the equipment is invoiced before shipment. So normally, only 30%-10% is at risk when commissioning is delayed. The backlog is huge at the moment, so if Project Jupiter is canceled, they can easily deploy it somewhere else while taking 70% of the revenue of $ORCL. As I said, I don't know the details of this contract but would find it strange if it would be completely different.
- On Hyperscaler adoption: CEO K.R. Sridhar stated that while they do not name every client under NDA, all major US hyperscalers and over a dozen neoclouds/colocation partners are involved through either active use, booked orders, or definitive agreements.
- On Capacity bottlenecks: In response to whether $BE can actually execute these massive orders, Sridhar stated they use a sophisticated algorithm based on customer readiness and pipeline to predict capacity, assuring investors they will not be a bottleneck.
- On Brookfield: Management explained that the massive $20 billion expansion (from $5 billion to $25 billion) acts as a financial shelf available as demand arises, rather than an immediate deployment, driven by the acceleration of AI data center.
- On the raised guidance: They significantly raised full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $3.9B - $4.2 B. Edwards emphasized this is not dependent on any single project, showing confidence in their broader backlog execution.
- On Hunterbook Capital report: They did not address the scandium shortages in the call.
