Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Five Women on TTC; Police Believe There Are More Victims

A 30-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police allege he sexually assaulted several women aboard public transit in the city's downtown core.

According to the Toronto Police Service, officers responded to a report of a sexual assault at approximately 12:56 p.m. on Thursday, July 2.

Investigators allege the accused sexually assaulted five adult women between 8 a.m. and noon while travelling on public transit in downtown Toronto. Police say the women did not know the suspect.

Police also allege the man obstructed officers during the investigation.

Ashraful Alam, 30, of Toronto, has been charged with:
-Five counts of sexual assault
-Obstructing a peace officer.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward and are asking anyone with information, or anyone who believes they may have been victimized, to contact Toronto police.
