His voice is still a bit hoarse, but Jon Waters’ spirits are soaring after a “remarkable” performance by America’s Band of Band Directors in the famed Tournament of Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, on New Year’s Day.

This was an experience of a lifetime. Thank you to everyone that made this all possible. This was more then a group of people performing in a parade. It was an inspiration to many and a rejuvenation of passion in the hearts of everyone who participated. @NitschmannMS@SABD2022
Congratulations to @SABD2022 for winning the Rose Parade’s Showmanship Award yesterday!
Barnhouse composer James Swearingen was one of five band directors also honored on the float - he rode in the parade, and Lisa Galvin wrote one of the arangements the directors' band played!
I had the honor to March with Maestro Juan Carlos Director of the Aguiluchos del Centro Escolar Marching Band de Pubela Mexico! Maestro Juan Carlos has March the @RoseParade four times. This he March with Mexico in @SABD2022 Viva Puebla! @riverateacher@aguiluchos
What. A. Day. So very thankful for this awesome opportunity! The 🌹parade was amazing and I finally got to spend some time with my #1 fan at the game this evening. (And FYI, that bottle of water at end of the parade was the best bottle of water ever!) @SFHSLions @CarranzaEK
Band Directors are selfless people who will often go above and beyond for their students. These people have been instrumental in the creation and execution of this project from the dream to the end of the parade.
Thank you for what you do. We teach music. We teach life.
Congratulations and great job, America’s Band Directors! So proud of the friends & colleagues in this band.
Thank you for highlighting the importance of music education in our children’s lives.
