🥩 How to Stake $SAFE
SAFE token staking is live. Here's everything you need to know. 🧵
Safenet, Safe's new transaction security protocol, is now live in Beta. SAFE token holders can stake today to start earning rewards for securing the network.
💰 Stake your SAFE tokens to an active validator's address and earn a share of their rewards. No node required. The validator takes a 5% commission, you earn the rest.
Initial validator set: @Gnosis_ , @greenfield_cap , @SafeLabs_ and @Rockaway_X and Core Contributors.
🧵 Here is how you can stake now ↓
Safenet Beta Rewards: Period 4 rewards are now claimable.
$SAFE rewards were distributed by @safefndn on June 2, following SEP-55.
Eligible stakers can claim via Safe{Wallet}, a staking UI, or a contract.

Quick note on this: the vulnerability is in two third-party Zodiac modules, not in the Safe protocol, Safe{Wallet}, or the Account Recovery feature.
If you use the Roles v2 or Delay v1.1.0 module, please urgently check your account and disable the module following Zodiac's notice.
The @SafeLabs_ team has been supporting the response with Gnosis, Zodiac, SEAL, and the security community, and I'm personally overseeing the work.
An important clarification on the issue Zodiac has disclosed:
This is a vulnerability in two third-party Zodiac modules (Roles Modifier v2 and Delay Modifier v1.1.0).
Important: Safe smart contracts, Safe{Wallet} infrastructure and UI and account recovery, are not affected.
If you have either module enabled, follow the steps in Zodiac's notice.
We're supporting the response alongside the Zodiac Team, Gnosis Team, and the security community.
Safe{Research} spotlight 🔬
Traditional multisig: more signers = more gas.
FROST signature verification: ~5,600 gas. Whether you have 3 signers or 1,000.
That's 95% more efficient than pairing-based threshold signatures. It matches the FROST standard exactly (RFC-9591), with no EVM-specific modifications.

We said SAFE staking should reach holders wherever they are. Now we know who's building it.
Six teams are being funded with 500,000 SAFE under SEP-55 to bring staking on Safenet to more platforms and more people: dashboards, an embeddable widget, in-wallet staking, even staking from your AI agent.
Meet the six teams bringing SAFE staking everywhere:
• @cobuildersxyz: a staking dashboard, a CLI, and an MCP server to stake SAFE from Claude Desktop or Cursor
• @bootnodedev: a dashboard with live validator insights and a plain-language risk preview before you sign
• @protofire: a production-grade dashboard with a 99% uptime commitment
• @devanoneth: SAFE staking built into Eternal Safe, the IPFS-hosted Safe wallet
• Chainza: a one-import widget any wallet or app can embed to offer SAFE staking
• Core Contributors: keeping today's reference staking interface live and maintained
Building in the open. Follow along.
SAFE staking should reach holders wherever they are.
Per SEP-55, we're funding up to 5 independent operators to build interfaces and integrations for Safenet Beta. Up to 100k SAFE per grant.

SquidRouterModule 3rd Party Module Incident
We are aware of reports concerning a vulnerability in a third-party module named SquidRouterModule (not built, deployed, or operated by @safe). Safe’s core contracts, Safe{Wallet} - @SafeLabs_ and infrastructure are NOT AFFECTED. The only at-risk Safe smart accounts are those deployed outside of Safe{Wallet} and that have manually enabled this specific unverified third-party module.
Action for users using 3rd party modules:
- Check your Safe's enabled modules in the app (Settings → Modules).
- Disable any unknown or untrusted modules.
- Review and revoke approvals where needed (tools like https://t.co/32qm4Ny9kd).
Modules are a powerful Safe smart account feature that grant execution rights. Always review and audit third-party modules before enabling them.
Stay Safe

Safe Foundation’s 5M SAFE Ecosystem Alignment Program continues with @Velvet_Capital.
Through a 5-year token swap, Safe Foundation and Velvet are aligning around self-custodial DeFi portfolio infrastructure, from trading and vault creation to portfolio management and strategy execution.
Velvet supports 100K+ users and over $100M in trading volume, with Safe smart accounts embedded in its infrastructure.
This follows previous alignments with World Foundation and JOIN, continuing the program’s focus on teams building the next layer of usable self-custody.
