As our new building gets closer to completion, it is a pleasure to host various partner groups for new building tours and visualize the hope this new space will bring to the DTES. Here are some snip bits from the tour with our Community Council! #GivingHopeToday
It’s that time of the year: National Doughnut Day. Every first Friday of June, The Salvation Army commemorates this date to honour the brave work of the organization’s “Doughnut Lassies”, who served snacks and provided comfort to soldiers on the front lines during the First World War.

National Doughnut Day began in 1938 to honour the “Doughnut Lassies” of The Salvation Army who bravely served doughnuts to frontline soldiers during WWI!
Today, doughnuts still symbolize our commitment to sharing hope and support with people across Canada and Bermuda.
June is National Indigenous History Month—a time to honour the heritage, traditions and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples.
The Salvation Army in Canada remains committed to reconciliation through learning, respect and meaningful relationships.
We had the privilege of partnering with the local photography and Territorial videography team this week to film powerful client stories. 📽️ Grateful for the collaboration and for the chance to highlight the hope within our community. Looking forward to the final result!
