Today is Canadian Multiculturalism Day.
Did you know Canada was the first country in the world to adopt multiculturalism as an official policy in 1971, and further committed to this value by enshrining it in law through the Canadian Multiculturalism Act in 1988?
Our country’s collective identity is rooted in the recognition that our many languages, traditions and beliefs enrich our social fabric. Let's honour the many cultural communities that help build a strong and vibrant Canadian society. Take this opportunity to celebrate the cultural diversity that enriches us collectively and reaffirm your commitment to equity, inclusion and mutual respect.

Last night, we came together with over 160 attendees to celebrate International Women’s Day—and what an inspiring evening it was! 🎉
Our keynote speaker, Sharmila Ranabhat captivated us with insights from her new storybook - Untold Stories of Racialized Immigrant Women, shedding light on the challenges and resilience of racialized immigrant women. Her words were a powerful reminder of the strength in every woman’s journey, and the urge of addressing systemic barriers impacting racialized immigrant women.
What's more, the energy in the room soared with the showcase of women's organizations and vibrant dance performances, bringing movement and culture to our celebration. 💃✨
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us in making this event unforgettable. Let’s continue to uplift, empower, and spotlight change—today and every day! 💜 #IWD #EmpoweringWomen #SpotlightOnChange #StrongerTogether
