[ScotGov Education @ScotGovEdu]

Backed by £150,000 from @ScotGov, @SAIAorg's Wee Breathers project helps teachers to support children - including those with care experience - in a caring, trauma-informed way, while caring for their own mental resilience.

Promise Minister @NatalieDon_ met the project leads.

When we understand trauma, we build compassion.

When we build compassion, we build resilience.

When we build resilience, we break cycles.

That’s the heart of Wee Play Days.

Resilience grows in relationships.

Wee Play Days helps families and practitioners understand the importance of attachment, stress, and emotional connection. With this knowledge, communities can thrive.

📷 Did you know?

Reflective practice spaces help people understand behaviour, build empathy, and strengthen relationships. Wee Play Days is weaving these spaces into everyday community life.

[Scottish Attachment In Action (SAIA) @saiaorg]

What is the Wee BREATHERS model?

Wee BREATHERS are attachment-informed, trauma sensitive support sessions that offer time to connect, reflect and learn within a safe and confidential space. Managing our own distress/wellbeing enables us to support the community.

#WeePlayDays

[Scottish Attachment In Action (SAIA) @saiaorg]

📷 Why Wee Play Days?

Because every family deserves a space where they feel safe, supported, and heard. This initiative helps communities grow stronger—one relationship at a time.

SAIA's "Call to Action" is asking for recognition that reflective practice and supervision for Education Staff is essential! This shift to relational approaches must be at the heart of reducing sickness and increasing staff retention #relational #teaching #wellbeingforall
