SSO, Ranchi organized Integrated Safety Circle Competition-2026 on 3rd June’26 at Ranchi, with 13 teams having 57 participants from Plants & Units. Team from ISP, Burnpur (Sinter Plant) emerged as Winner, whereas 1st & 2nd Runner-Up were from DSP (W&AP) & BSP (LDCP) respectively.
As part of the #Pravartanam leadership activation initiative, a 2-day immersive workshop on Digital Transformation was conducted for 32 Executive Directors and Chief General Managers of SAIL.
The initiative received continued guidance and support from ED(Digital Transformation) and ED(HR-L&D), reinforcing SAIL’s commitment towards building digitally empowered leadership and accelerating organisational transformation.
This initiative marks a significant step towards competency-based assessment, skill-gap identification and preparation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) across SAIL.
The workshop brought together 12 executives from BSP, BSL, ISP and RSP to collaboratively finalize competency mapping and develop structured assessment question banks for Operations, Mechanical Maintenance and Electrical Maintenance domains.
Leveraging AI tools and technical references such as SOPs, SMPs and OEM manuals, participants prepared PL-1, PL-2 and PL-3 level assessment questions. The outcomes were presented before a senior panel chaired by the CGM (Blast Furnace), ISP.
MTI, SAIL successfully conducted a 3-day Workshop on Finalisation of the Blast Furnace Technical Competency Framework & Preparation of Assessment Questionnaires during 28–30 May 2026.
SAIL MTI successfully moderated an #AbhigyanSampark online interaction of the CoP–Steel Making on LF operational challenges, including ring jam formation on electrodes and hood leakages.
CGMs and experts from Steel Melting & Continuous Casting Shops of all Integrated Steel Plants, along with RDCIS, RCL and CoP members, actively participated. The deliberations were highly insightful, with valuable suggestions shared across plants.
The 66th ROCM was held at SAIL-ISP, Burnpur on 28–29 May 2026 on “Challenges & Emerging Technologies in Refractory Practices for Reheating Furnaces.” Around 45 delegates from 8 SAIL and 5 non-SAIL units participated in technical and best-practice sessions.
SSO organized a Safety Awareness Programme on 25-May-2026 at CMO HQ Kolkata for WHMs & Safety Officers, covering their Role & Responsibilities, Material Handling, Road/Rail safety & case studies. ED (SSO) alongwith GM I/c (MS) CMO & GM I/c (SSO) steered the concluding session.
