There’s a misunderstanding here about what “secular public schools” actually means.

The Establishment Clause prevents the government from promoting religion, but the Free Exercise Clause prevents the government from discriminating against people because they are religious.

Moody students wouldn’t control curriculum or teach theology—they would be supervised interns required to follow CPS policies like every other student teacher.

So the real question is simple: should the government exclude qualified participants from a public program solely because they attend a religious college? The Constitution says no.

Pluralism means religious and non-religious citizens participate equally in public life—not that religious people are pushed out of it.
