A contract signed in January 2024 between Daniel Vorcaro’s Banco Master and the law firm owned by Viviane Barci de Moraes—the wife of the Supreme Court justice who would soon become the single most powerful figure in Jair Bolsonaro’s criminal prosecution.

No detailed billing. No public filings showing appearances before the Central Bank, CADE, or Congress. Just a steady river of cash flowing to the household of the man who controlled the evidence, the courtroom, and the narrative that branded Bolsonaro a coup plotter.

Then the banker’s phone was seized. Messages surfaced—Vorcaro pressing for “protection,” Moraes replying in the kind of coded language that vanishes the moment it’s read. The same Vorcaro who was later arrested fleeing the country after orchestrating one of the biggest banking frauds in Brazilian history. The same Moraes who, months earlier, had stared down American sanctions like an untouchable hero—only to see those sanctions quietly lifted right as the Banco Master scandal broke wide open.

Connect those dots and the picture isn’t subtle.

It isn’t a conspiracy theory when the timeline screams coordination, the money screams motive, and the outcome screams convenience: a populist president neutralized, a fraudulent empire shielded (for a while), and a justice whose iron-fist image suddenly looks more like rented armor.
