This is my second letter to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India regarding the devastating MAN-MADE flood in South Bengal caused by unprecedented release of water by DVC.
Bengal shines again!
@UNICEFIndia praises visionary social welfare schemes, brainchilded by Smt. @MamataOfficial, as game-changers for Bengal's social upliftment.
#BengalShowsTheWay by empowering women, transforming lives and setting global standards!
Since day one, I have supported the doctors in their concerns regarding safety and security, and I have always maintained that most of their concerns, barring a few, are valid, sensible and justified. As per the SC's directions and the GoWB’s submission before the SC yesterday, most of the measures for improving their safety and security are in progress, including the installation of CCTV cameras and infrastructural developments in Medical Colleges and Hospitals across West Bengal, which are expected to be completed within 14 days. Additionally, the government has honored their demands for transferring certain top officials in the Health Department and Kolkata Police, as confirmed by the HCM the day before in her media address.
As a gesture of goodwill, the doctors should now consider CALLING OFF THE STRIKE AND WORK COLLABORATIVELY WITH GoWB to serve the people and expedite the implementation of the task force's initiatives to ensure these changes are promptly executed.
Lastly, it is crucial to hold the CBI accountable and ensure that no perpetrators are spared, with swift punishment handed down at the earliest opportunity. The CBI's record speaks for itself: over the past 10 years, they have not completed a single investigation they have undertaken. JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED.
#JusticeForRGKar
One tragedy after another – the human cost of doctors abstaining from their duty is mounting.
This time, a man from Haripal, Hooghly, lost his life after being denied the treatment he desperately needed.
AITC has suspended the person for his derogatory remarks, yet individuals like you, Brij Bhushan Singh and Ajay Teni Mishra remain favored by Modi Ji. Perhaps it's time to align your actions with your words.
These 4 incidents have happened in the last 48 hours in 4 different @BJP4India-ruled states. As our leader @abhishekaitc has said, we need a stringent ANTI RAPE LAW that ensures TRIALS AND CONVICTIONS WITHIN 50 DAYS, followed by immediate and harsh punishment.
Wake Up #India!
This collage stands as a STARK REMINDER of the STATE OF AFFAIRS IN INDIA OVER THE LAST 15 DAYS, as the nation fights for JUSTICE AGAINST RAPE.
The ANSWER is clear: A stringent ANTI RAPE LAW that ensures TRIALS AND CONVICTIONS WITHIN 50 DAYS, followed by immediate and harsh punishment. The SHOCKING TRUTH is that the CONVICTION RATE FOR RAPE cases in 🇮🇳 is a dismal 26 percent. This translates to ONLY 26 CONVICTIONS OUT OF EVERY 100 REPORTED CASES, WHILE 74 OFFENDERS ESCAPE UNPUNISHED. If we are to deliver justice to the victims of this appalling crime, it is imperative that we demand A TIME BOUND ANTI RAPE LAW from our states and union government.
Anything else is futile, merely symbolic and ultimately ineffective!
Over the past 10 days, while the nation has been protesting against the #RGKarMedicalcollege incident and demanding justice, 900 RAPES have occurred across different parts of India - DURING THE VERY TIME WHEN PEOPLE WERE ON THE STREETS PROTESTING AGAINST THIS HORRIBLE CRIME.
Sadly, a lasting solution still remains largely undiscussed.
With 90 RAPES REPORTED DAILY, 4 EVERY HOUR AND 1 EVERY 15 MINUTES - the urgency for a decisive action is clear. We need strong laws that mandate TRIALS & CONVICTIONS WITHIN 50 days, followed by the severest punishments, not just empty promises. State governments must act and urgently push the Union for a comprehensive anti-rape law that ensures swift and strict justice. Anything less is merely symbolic and tragically ineffective.
WAKE UP INDIA!
