Dissecting the #SFPModel, an innovative technical package, to optimize the smallholder ecosystem for a sustainable @RH_NHGSFP and as a tool for National Food Security, Gender Balancing, Improved School Enrollment, Rural Development, and Wealth Creation - @adebola09
@NigeriaGov plans to feed 50 million kids in primary schools in 2026. Creating a sustainable SFP system for the @RH_NHGSFP is a big task that can lift some 10 million out of poverty in a lifetime and unleash secondary and tertiary opportunities with incredible impacts.
Let's GO!!
I am very certain that Nigeria is on the right track of progress with numerous initiatives under
the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR @officialABAT
@Nairametrics
But Nigeria has to industrialize. By taking these commodities thro primary processing even as unfinished products, we'll earn between to 5 - 10x of these figures, create more of good-paying jobs for our youth and expand the GDP๐ฑ
and create wealth.
The @WorldBank is co-financing this program with @NigeriaGov under the LPRES.
Gov. Muhammad Yahaya is an example of what a focused Gov can deliver for his state.
This is not the #SAPZNigeria but we'll integrate!
Thank you Gombe๐ณ๐ฌ
The Gombe Agroindustrial Livestock program was flagged off yesterday!
GombeGOV thanked Prst @officialABAT for the support to birth this ultramodern investment which promises to tackle the incessant farmers - herders crisis, modernize livestock production and generate employment
FG not Tinubu via Livestock Ministry has unveiled a model Livestock Village- WASE GRAZING LOT in WASE LGA of Plateau state.
2: this will curb insecurity and modernize Livestock Farming in the state.
3: This Livestock Village will have pasture irrigation systems for wet and dry seasons, a veterinary clinic, a primary healthcare center, basic education facilities and staff accommodation and a security post.
4: With proper implementation, we can produce high quality milk for both domestic and international markets.
5: Govt should concession this place after establishing it properly because of budgetary constraints.
- (a): Look at The National Animal Production Research Institute in Zaria. Concession that place.
6: states must enact law to restrict cattle herders to this livestock village. Then, create incentives for private sector @macban_nigeria@CalebMutfwang@officialABAT
Good news but this is not encouraging. We're shortchanged!
The #SAPZNigeria is being implemented to promote value addition.
In simple terms, for every U$1.00 in valorization, we will earn U$3.00 in RoI in the minimum. This means 200% or more in additional earnings.
Nigeriaโs non-oil exports hit a record $1.7 billion in QI, the highest in 49 years.
Cocoa and its derivatives accounted for 45 per cent of the lot. Products such as cashew nuts, sesame seeds, aluminium and copper ingots, soybeans, and rubber also topped the list of exports. Nonye Ayeni, the Nigerian Export Promotion Council executive director, said the value of non-oil exports recorded in the first quarter was 24.75 per cent higher than the corresponding value in the first quarter of 2024. She said the year-on-year increase was the highest since the council was created 49 years ago.
The North East is in the Phase 2 of the #SAPZ. Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe and Taraba put in their EoI and attended the Inception Workshop hosted by the HM @SenAbuKyari at the @AfDB_Nigeria in September 2023. They all featured in the missions of the bank in 2024
@nassnigeria
North East Nass Caucus holds a press conference today at the National Assembly, lamenting the exclusion of the North East from the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ),
The SAPZ is an agricultural development initiative with a budget of $530 million, financially supported by the Federal Government, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
Senator Danjuma Goje, while reading a statement from the Caucus, mentioned that the North-East is the largest geopolitical zone in the country, occupying almost one-third of Nigeria's total area of 272,451 square kilometers (105,194 square miles). He emphasized that the region's potential in various aspects of the agricultural sector is highly significant.
FG gave Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi and 6 other states the #SAPZNigeria and ICT hubs, Federal Ministries of Agriculture & Food Security; Livestock Development: Water Resources; Health; Foreign Affairs; Creative Economy; Budget & National Planning; and Defence including the ONSA. Cheers!
The size of the transaction has been abysmally low Y-o-Y. We need to have a trillion US$ economy of GDP by increasing our productivity. We must focus on value addition and industrialization and stop exporting raw materials!
@StatiSense More exports than imports meaning more dollars came in than went out but.....
We still have dollar scarcity instead of surplus and a weakening naira instead of a stronger one.
Nigeria deserves her own chapter in economics textbooks.
President @akin_adesina is GCON in-waiting to be confirmed by HE President @officialABAT soon.
We'll paint the presidential banquet ๐ณ๐ฌ to celebrate one of Africa's finest brains.
Thank you for doing Africa proud through your great strides at @AfDB_Group.
Dr Akinwumi Adesina, thank you for your meritorious service to Nigeria and Africa.
God bless you ๐๐ฝ
Man is ending his tenure this September and he just negotiated a $7.5 billion deal for our agriculture sector.
There is also $1.5 billion concessionary loan deal awaiting to be approved by AfDB board.
He currently holds the CON national honor, it should be upgraded to a CFR
Delighted to share my new book which calls attention to renewed efforts for a resurgent Nigeria economy. Nigeria had GPD/Capita six times Chinaโs in 1980. Itโs Fortune had been reversed and a big factor in lack of Leadership: political, bureaucratic etc.
