I am Deeply humbled and profoundly grateful, and truly honored to be conferred with the Padma Shri.
My heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India for bestowing upon me one of our nation’s highest civilian honors. I am equally thankful to the Government of Maharashtra for recommending my name and placing their faith in my journey. This recognition is something I will cherish for the rest of my life.
To every person who watched my films, embraced my characters, celebrated my successes, forgave my shortcomings, and stood by me through the years—this honor belongs as much to you as it does to me. Your affection has been the driving force behind every milestone in my life and career.
Today, I also feel a deep sense of responsibility. This recognition reminds me that every privilege carries with it a greater duty—to uphold the values of integrity, humility, and excellence; to contribute meaningfully to the world of cinema that has given me everything; and to serve my country in whatever way I can.
I dedicate this honor to the magical world of cinema, to every artist and technician who has walked alongside me and to my family who have been my strength…
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Jai Hind. 🇮🇳🙏😊

Odisha is a land of festivals, where every season brings its own celebration.
Today marks the beginning of Raja Parba (ରଜ/रज) - a unique festival celebrating womanhood, fertility, and the arrival of the monsoon.
For three days, swings sway, traditional delicacies are prepared, and the earth is given rest as a mark of respect for Mother Nature.

When rain falls, most of it disappears into drains.
But in one district, it began flowing back into the earth.
IAS officer Prathap M, the son of a farmer from Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, grew up understanding the value of water.
As the first graduate in his family, he once cycled kilometres to school with a dream of serving society. Years later, that dream took shape through a simple but powerful idea.
Instead of sealing abandoned borewells, his administration converted over 1,200 unused borewells into rainwater-harvesting recharge structures, allowing monsoon water to seep back into underground aquifers.
The result was visible after just one monsoon.
Groundwater levels reportedly rose by 5 to 10 feet in several areas, helping revive wells and support farming communities.
Sometimes, saving water does not require new resources. It requires reimagining what already exists.

“Baripada Mudhi” deserves a GI tag.
Odisha had initiated the GI tag process for it a few years ago, but there hasn’t been much update since then.
Produced in over 500 factories and prepared in countless homes, puffed rice supports thousands of families and carries a unique local taste and tradition.
It’s not just a snack, it’s part of the region’s identity and economy.
