To every soldier of the Trinamool Congress family, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your courage, resilience, and relentless fight for justice. Despite an extremely difficult and compromised election, you never gave up hope.
Our candidates and counting agents were forcibly removed in several places, while the counting process was effectively controlled by Central Government employees. After the results, Bengal witnessed shocking post-poll violence despite repeated promises of protection by the Centre. Central forces remained mute spectators as our workers, offices, and homes were attacked and set ablaze.
My deepest condolences to the families of those we lost in this struggle. Bengal has suffered immensely over the past few days, and such scenes are against the very spirit of our land.
But this fight is far from over. We will challenge every illegality, manipulation, and abuse of power through every constitutional and legal avenue available to us. We have full faith in the Hon’ble Supreme Court and in the democratic institutions of this country. In more than 100 seats, our candidates and counting agents were forcibly removed, serious irregularities were reported, and the mandate of the people was undermined. The truth cannot be buried forever, and every injustice faced by the people of Bengal will be raised with strength and determination.
The people of Bengal know who stood beside them through every hardship, and we must continue to do so with patience, unity, and determination. Truth cannot be suppressed forever. We will return stronger.
Stay united. Stay on the ground. Continue serving the people with courage, discipline, and positivity. Our fight will continue with unwavering determination and faith in democracy.
All India Trinamool Congress has unanimously decided that the following members shall hold the respective positions in the 18th West Bengal Legislative Assembly:
1. Leader of Opposition:
Shri Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay
2. Deputy Leaders of Opposition:
Smt. Asima Patra and Smt. Nayna
Bandyopadhyay
3. Chief Whip: Shri Firhad Hakim
We congratulate the leaders and wish them success in working with commitment for the interest of people of Bengal.
BJP leaders believe they are above the law. And they have raised their children to believe the same.
In Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi's son rammed his vehicle into 5 people, then blamed the victims for not clearing the road fast enough. He threatened bystanders to stop recording. And then told the police, with breathtaking arrogance, that his father was an MLA who could handle even a murder.
This is not an isolated incident. In Lakhimpur Kheri, former Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni's son ran over and killed 5 people in cold blood. The Minister kept his cabinet post. A pattern this consistent is not coincidence. It is culture.
BJP's culture. Where power is absolute, consequence is optional, and human lives are an inconvenience to be handled by a phone call to the ‘right’ person.
This is BJP's DNA.
How much more proof does @ECISVEEP need? Fresh videographic evidence exposes BJP’s massive fraud 👇
A man who refused to identify himself was caught by journalists carrying two huge bags stuffed with thousands of fraudulent Form 6 applications, all meant to flood Bengal’s electoral rolls with fake voters from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Such incidents are surfacing with alarming frequency. Yet Vanish Kumar and @CEOWestBengal are sitting like spineless cowards, looking the other way while this daylight rigging continues.
While Bengal was fighting deletions of genuine voters, BJP has been plotting to import outsiders and stuff the rolls with fake names. This is disgusting. This is shameful. This is completely unacceptable.
Bengal will not allow democracy to be hijacked by these Bangla-Birodhi forces.
What we are witnessing is deeply concerning. There are growing indications of a coordinated attempt to interfere with the democratic rights of the people of Bengal - with the BJP at the centre of it and the ECI seemingly looking the other way.
People deserve to know what is happening to their votes. This isn’t a small issue- It goes to the very heart of free and fair elections.
We are receiving credible reports from several districts that large numbers of Form 6 applications (New Voters) are being submitted in a questionable manner. These are not routine additions. There are serious concerns that many of these entries may be linked to individuals who have no real connection to Bengal—people who don’t live here, don’t work here and have no stake in the state.
The video only adds to these concerns. It appears to show thousands of such forms being processed and stacked, raising valid questions about the scale and intent behind this exercise.
We have seen similar concerns being raised in other states during elections. Bengal cannot be allowed to go down that path.
Take a moment to watch this. Ask questions. Because this is not just about politics- it’s about protecting the integrity of our vote. This is the kind of “PARIBORTON” the BJP seeks to impose on Bengal.
The Election Commission must answer.
I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the dastardly, cowardly and utterly reprehensible attack on our Hon'ble Minister Smt. Shashi Panja. Her home was vandalised and ransacked. Our party workers and supporters were mercilessly beaten. And she herself was physically assaulted, with stones and bricks hurled at her, leaving her injured.
A serving Cabinet Minister was attacked in broad daylight by BJP goons emboldened by their Prime Minister's presence in the city. This is not an attack on one woman. This is an attack on every woman of Bengal. Bengal has seen this before. In 2019, from Amit Shah's rally, the bust of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was vandalised and desecrated.
This is BJP’s culture. These BOHIRAGOTO BJP ZAMINDARS want to import their politics of PROVOCATION to Bengal. They want to destroy peace. They want to spread fear. This will neither be forgiven, nor be forgotten.
Bengal will not tolerate BJP’s SAFFRON GUNDAGARDI.
Maha Jungle Raj in @BJP4India-ruled Uttar Pradesh!
Heart-wrenching, blood-boiling horror in Lucknow, where a monster rapes a helpless woman, murders her in cold blood over a petty dispute, then, as her visually impaired son tries to save his mother, the beast strangles and drowns the innocent child in a tub. A mother violated, a son slaughtered, families shattered under @myogiadityanath's watch.
@narendramodi, your "Double Engine" is DOUBLE DESTRUCTION, rapes soaring, murders rampant, while you pose for selfies and spew hollow slogans. Yogi ji, if THIS is the nightmare in UP's capital, one can only shudder at the hell in the rest of the state. Your bulldozer "justice" is a farce, failing women and children every day!

Two young lives from Nandigram are beginning a journey toward healing, and I am glad that we could play a small role in making that possible.
During our Sebaashray camp in Nandigram, we learned about two young girls, Suparna Jana and Arpita Dalui, both suffering from complex heart conditions. Their families had been carrying the weight of this struggle, living with the uncertainty that accompanies such serious medical challenges.
The moment their situation came to our attention, arrangements were made to send them to AIIMS, New Delhi, where they can receive the specialised treatment they require. Within our limited capacity, we have ensured that every aspect of their treatment is being taken care of, because no child’s chance at life and health should ever be constrained by economic hardship.
May they return home soon with renewed strength and bright smiles. In the end, the true measure of any society is how gently it cares for those who are most vulnerable.
I am shocked and deeply concerned by the sudden news of the resignation of Shri C. V. Ananda Bose, the Governor of West Bengal.
The reasons behind his resignation are not known to me at this moment. However, given the prevailing circumstances, I would not be surprised if the Governor has been subjected to some pressure from the Union Home Minister to serve certain political interests on the eve of the forthcoming State Assembly elections.
Union Home Minister just informed me that Shri R.N. Ravi is being appointed as Governor of West Bengal. He never consulted with me as per the established convention in this regard.
Such actions undermine the spirit of the Constitution of India and strike at the very foundation of our federal structure. The Centre must respect the principles of cooperative federalism and refrain from taking unilateral decisions that erode democratic conventions and the dignity of States.
In several Assembly constituencies, 90% of the electorate has been placed “under adjudication.” Imagine the scale, the sweep, and the sinister intent underlying the SIR exercise.
For all their money and muscle power, @BJP4India has not managed to breach the impenetrable fortress of Maa-Mati-Manush. In a desperate last-ditch attempt, they have sought to rig the playing field even before a single vote is cast, by placing the very voters themselves under suspicion.
1/2 I am deeply honoured to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the All India Trinamool Congress @AITCofficial I am grateful to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Ms. Mamata Banerjee @MamataOfficial for reposing her faith in me.
