Today, I joined distinguished regional leaders, government officials, diplomats and development partners at the commissioning of the new ECOWAS Permanent Headquarters in Abuja, a landmark that symbolizes the shared aspirations of West African nations for stronger regional integration, peace and sustainable development.

The new headquarters represents more than an architectural achievement; it reflects the enduring spirit of cooperation among ECOWAS Member States and the collective resolve to deepen economic integration, strengthen democratic institutions and promote prosperity across the sub-region.

As West Africa continues to navigate evolving political, economic and security challenges, this milestone reinforces the importance of collaboration and visionary leadership in advancing the ideals upon which ECOWAS was founded.

Yesterday, I joined stakeholders from the sports and development sectors for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between NILDS and the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) ahead of the All Africa Challenge Trophy 2026 (AACT 2026).

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to harnessing the power of sport to promote diplomacy, gender inclusion, economic growth, and stronger ties across the African continent. With over 30 African countries expected to participate, AACT 2026 will provide a valuable platform for fostering cooperation, investment, and meaningful engagement among African nations.
