True, but what the people learned over the years is that governments all around the world do not care how many people protest when protests are peacefully and not destructive. They only address issues when it turns violent and destructive. I'm not promoting violence, I'm advocating that governments should act and at least address the issue and listen to the complaints when people protest peacefully.
@Jonathan_Witt She will most certainly do it. She is wrong though. If she simply stops the stealing, waste and corruption, there will be more than enough money to fix Jhb within a year or two. Without more tax.
@Richard_Spoor Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
For those dumocrats, it means you should never be ungrateful, rude, or harmful to someone who supports, helps, or employs you. Acting badly toward your benefactors risks losing their help entirely.
Very simple.
If Iโm ever a suspect in any matter, this is how I want the police to deal with me. Phone me and ask me when it is convenient for me to hand myself over. If I have important matters, like a big project planning, I also want to postpone until that project is finished. Thank you. Whereโs the bookmark button?
It's the other way around buddy. People simply hate Trump. No matter what. He can create world peace, solve global heating, make everyone rich, solve cancer, the left will still hate him. On the other hand there are plenty of examples of Republicans and Trump supporters who will support him generally, but will disagree and speak out on subjects they don't agree with. Just look at congress, democrats always vote as one, no free will. Republicans are the only party where votes are often split.

You are not supporting a sports team. You are not betting on who's going to win. It's about representation. There is no point in making a strong contender even stronger if you don't support their policies. Voting against yourself makes no sense. Besides, don't believe their fear mongering. They are not as strong as they think. From the beginning they relied on the white and colored vote. Now, they are only interested in the black vote and have completely deserted their traditional voter base. They will stab the black voters in the back too.
You will be surprised how small DA actually is. This November, you will see.
๐งตOpen Letter to the Minister of Home Affairs, @Leon_Schreib
Concerns about the proposed Digital ID System
Dear Minister Schreiber,
@LexLibertasOnX is a think tank and advocacy group committed to the promotion of basic freedoms and the principles of constitutionalism. In this sense, our central aim is to promote decentralisation and self-governance for the various peoples of South Africa. We also take a stand against particular policy ideas that we believe to be counterproductive to the promotion of decentralised governance.
One such issue is the proposed digital ID system.
We have recently submitted our concerns about the proposed digital ID system to your office, and we have opened a channel through which members of the public could express their concerns. Within days, thousands of people have added their names to our submission. Support for our opposition to the digital ID system is still coming in. For this reason, we will add this to the submission that we already presented to your office at a later stage.
This strong public reaction reflects deep and widespread concern about the direction your Department is taking. While the proposal is presented as a technical improvement aimed at greater efficiency and fraud reduction, we believe it represents something far more serious.
We do not believe that the public should be asked to simply trust that this infrastructure will be secure and free of abuse. The design of the system itself โ particularly the mandatory logging of verifications and the broad discretionary powers granted to the Director-General โ makes abuse not only possible, but likely over time.
In this sense, there are several concerns that we wish to bring under your immediate attention. We will do so one by one. Thereafter, we will conclude with a list of questions with regard to which we would appreciate your answer.
