🚨 STATEMENT ALERT 🚨
During the Office of the Citizen National Townhall on the Finance Bill 2026, one urgent question emerged:
How will the proposed KSh 4.8 trillion budget impact ordinary Kenyans?
In response, Okoa Uchumi Campaign has issued a statement raising concerns over rising debt, punitive taxation, collapsing public services, fuel cartels, and the growing cost of living.
The coalition warns that Kenyans are being asked to carry a heavier burden even as corruption, wastage, and inequality continue unchecked.

The Ministry of Health, through KMTC in collaboration with Africa CDC, has today launched the 2026 Africa Mental Health Leadership and Advocacy Programme, positioning Kenya as a regional hub for mental health training and capacity building.
The two-week programme has draws participants from 17 African countries, up from 11 in the inaugural cohort, reflecting growing continental commitment to strengthening mental health systems.
With one in four patients in Kenya presenting with a mental health condition, the Government continues to advance reforms through key policies and legislation, while prioritizing integration of mental health into primary healthcare, expansion of community-based services, workforce development, and stronger data systems.
I presided over the opening of the training in Nairobi, joined by Dr. Mohamed Abdullaziz of Africa CDC, KMTC Board Chairperson Dr. Joseah Cheruiyot, KMTC CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch, and other stakeholders.
