Recruitment: Victims are frequently recruited by other victims. Female friends will befriend a victim and then introduce them to the “party scene.” Youth who struggle with low self-esteem, bullying, discrimination, poverty, abuse, isolation and social/family issues are targeted.
Survivors must open up at their own pace. Some survivors of #SexualAssault find it difficult to talk about what happened. Others may need to talk about the assault regularly. Don’t force your loved ones to open up or ask them to stop talking about the assault. #YouAreNotAlone
