Victor Wembanyama has just signed a 5-year, $252M maximum rookie-scale extension with the Spurs, including a player option in Year 5.

The real story? By opting for the standard 25% max instead of the 30% Supermax escalators he easily qualified for, Wemby leaves $51M+ on the table.

That ~$10M/year discount is massive for avoiding the second apron and keeping the cap flexible enough to maintain a championship-caliber core around him. Unbelievable team-first move giving San Antonio long-term stability to build around their generational talent.

@ExxAlerts I’m a UPS driver. This has happened to me, several times. The dog isn’t seen until the driver gets 2,the door. We are told 2 protect ourselves w/ what we have. I would’ve shielded myself w/ the box, walk back, dog in front. Dogs tend to be aggressive when the owner is present.

@SpursReporter If Wemby can find his spot early in the possession on the block…posting up, we should be ok. If OKC comes with a 2x team, kick out and hit the 3 or J. We need to hit shots, control the TOs, and make it tough in the paint for OKC.

@SpursReporter I’m assuming these officials are supposed to be the best. Already, two foul calls initially on Wemby challenged by the Spurs and rightly overturned.

@OKCUFCKFC @BadSportsRefs Yep. Sure was. Different sport though and not a playoff game. The refs didn’t call 50 fouls for the Spurs and none for OKC. Look..I’m not a fan of bad officiating…in either sport. But in tonight’s game, the refs were not a focal point. Nobody was talking about them…except you.
