We want builders to build starter homes at $200-250k so the next generation can actually... start.
Instead, they sell $400-500k+ homes and call them "starter homes."
$3,190/month is NOT a starter home.
movie theater tickets being $18-$20 is insane btw. when i was in high school, they'd be $10 on the weekends and $7.50 for a weekday matinee. this is why kids don't *do* anything anymore.
they've been priced out of everything except being at home.
1999: $100k meant a 4-bedroom house, two new cars, and vacations. 🏝️
2026: $100k means "we can afford groceries as long as the check engine light stays off." 🚗🤡
Having a good day as a woman in America is literally:
• Got my favorite iced coffee 🧊☕️
• Paycheck hit early 💳
• Nobody asked me "what's for dinner?"
🤐
• Took my bra off at 5:00 PM 🛋️
• Did my skincare & went to sleep 🧴😴
