Dear Russia,
For over 4 years, your bombs killed innocent Ukrainian citizens. Not once did you offer to investigate, admit fault, attempt to curb your barbaric ways.
The loss of your civilians, like Ukrainians, is tragic, but FFS, stop the grandstanding. Your chance to seek compassion ended long ago.

In this analysis, Jacques Cheminade examines the clash between imperial ambitions and aspirations for sovereignty. He sheds light on the Iranian peace plan in the face of Donald Trump's strategy of stifling the situation, while also denouncing the confusion between republic and monarchy exacerbated by King Charles III's visit to the US Congress. Cheminade criticizes the lack of vision among the French political class, from Marine Le Pen to Jordan Bardella, and calls for the establishment of a new peace architecture based on mutual development and shared security.

'Noose Tightens Around the Neck of Humanity'
by Marcia Merry Baker (EIRNS) — May. 04, 2026
Over the past 30 hours, the United States escalated the conflict in its war against Iran, when U.S. President Donald Trump on May 2 declared that U.S. “Project Freedom” would begin today, for the U.S. military to control transit through the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. CentCom statement declared that the U.S. Navy will provide “guidance” for ships’ passage, and oppose Iranian interference with force. CentCom reported U. S. forces include “guided-missile destroyers, over 100 land and sea-based aircraft, multi-domain unmanned platforms, and 15,000 service members.” There may be a Pentagon briefing on the situation Tuesday, May 5.
A statement from Iran was issued early on May 4 by Iranian Major General Ali Abdollahi, reaffirming the right of Iran to control its waters, and posting a map showing the line across the Persian Gulf above and below the Strait of Hormuz, inside which Iran declares its sovereignty to control transit.
As of this evening reports continue to come out, sometimes conflicting, of warning shots, damage to ships, and the U.S. claim to have sunk six small Iran boats. It is reported that officials from Iran and Oman will be conferring imminently, as the two littoral nations that have worked together for decades on safe navigation. Meantime, the U.A.E. is caught in the middle of the conflict. The UN has a navigation corridor scheme on standby, worked out by a multi-agency taskforce commissioned in mid-March, including the International Maritime Organization. Their goals include providing exodus for the 200 vessels and 20,000 seamen trapped for weeks in the blockade, and also expediting vital flows of commodities and humanitarian cargo.
However, the Trump Administration opposes the principle of international law of the United Nations. The U.S. and Israel continue unilateral action, not only in the Gulf region, but also Israel is striking Lebanon and Gaza hard. Today, Trump posted on social media that Iran will be “blown off the face of the Earth,” if it targets U.S. ships in the Strait. U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz announced he will prepare a UN Security Council resolution, along with the U.A.E., against Iran. Waltz last week called for other nations to join the U.S.-led “Maritime Freedom Construct.”
All the while, the worldwide economic shocks grow by the hour, given the shutdown of vital flows of oil, gas, naphtha, fertilizers, sulphur and other commodities through the Gulf. A grim warning was given of the life-and-death implications for food was given by Svein Tore Holsether, CEO of Yara International, the world’s biggest fertilizer company, based in Norway, who said April 30 that he foresees a scenario of a “global auction” of fertilizer coming into being, where fertilizer goes to the highest bidder and the poor lose out. Yara operates in 60 countries, and sells in dozens more; its fertilizer prices to farmers are up 80% since March.
Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Schiller Institute leader, used the analogy of “the noose tightening around the neck of humanity” to describe the consequences of allowing all this to continue. To further decisive action to stop the madness, this news service will sponsor its fourth international (online) roundtable this year, of experts conferring on the emergency situation, to mobilize forces to intervene. The date is tentatively set for Friday, May 15, to be conducted concurrently with the weekly International Peace Coalition. An invitation in multiple languages is forthcoming.
Provocations abound. Today a high-rise apartment building in Moscow was hit by Ukraine attack drones, with the obvious implication of targeting the person of President Vladimir Putin. Moreover, the strike took place only days before Russia’s May 9 observance of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The drone attack took place as the eighth summit of the European Political Community of some 48 nations, plus EU and NATO leaders, in Yerevan, Armenia discussed new multibillion-dollar funding for Kiev to keep the Ukraine proxy war against Russia going. This grouping was initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron and U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
There are forces in motion for diplomacy and intervention to stop this warfare. One important focus this month is May 26, when China, rotating President of the UN Security Council for May, will hold a special UNSC open debate at the ministerial level on “Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-Centered International System.” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will chair the discussion, and more than the 15 member nations of the UNSC are likely to participate.
This is the direction to take, without delay. Zepp-LaRouche called on everyone to support this initiative for humanity. She warned today that we are in “a period of heightened military tension and danger. Something can go awfully wrong at any moment.”

A New Start, for Peace or War
by Paul Gallagher (EIRNS) — May. 03, 2026
Our reports below, this morning, illuminate two realities:
The world economy is being broken down by wars, embargos, sanctions, punitive tariffs, even genocide—every form of economic and military punishment which leaders of major nations can impose on others; heavily armed on less armed; nuclear nations on non-nuclear. Humanity is on the verge of a world war as terrible, or worse than any before. Economically, it will get worse at least for months, before having any chance for recovery.
And numbers of young people, still relatively few but growing in number and presence around the world, are beginning to wake up to what that reality demands of them, and to think of supplanting war and devastation with economic development and cultural revival.
We in The LaRouche Organization and the Schiller Institute’s International Peace Coalition are committed to those young people, especially those in the developing sector and in the depressed areas of the United States and Europe.
While reading these reports below, think, if you can, of the leadership provided the world in the aftermath of the last worldwide war 80 years ago, by an American President, Franklin D. Roosevelt; and 60 years ago, by President John Kennedy. What plans would those Presidents, or a prospective President with their outlook and feelings for humanity, have on his or her drawing board to escape from these years of war and economic destruction today and begin to reconstruct the worst-hit nations with the help of other survivors more fortunate?
Would that President not start, as FDR did, with the then-undeveloped countries of Southwest Asia, the “Middle East,” after flying over those countries and seeing the empty expanses of desert? Would that President not envision plans to find and develop the sources of fresh water, the sources of petrochemicals to restore energy, agriculture, and industry, the driving sources of peaceful nuclear power to electrify transportation and work? Would he or she not seek out cultural links to bring peoples together? Would he or she not heed the call of the Papal Foundation in Rome, again today, for “Peace through Development”?
Across all of South and Southwest Asia and North Africa, this is the Oasis Plan, designed some 75 years ago by the American economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche, and reintroduced today for peace and the survival of peoples, by LaRouche’s widow, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, and the Schiller Institute.
It’s very clear what American President we are not speaking about here. That President, receiving a negotiation proposal from battered Iran, said “They have not yet paid a big enough price for what they have done to Humanity, and the World, over the last 47 years.” Imagine such hatred of an entire people!
But a President like FDR would have made those peace plans. And we, in the Schiller Institute, have revived and developed this Oasis Plan for peace in Southwest Asia now, and held conference after conference to spread the idea, built a worldwide International Peace Coalition around it. Diane Sare, The LaRouche Organization’s Presidential candidate for 2028, plans, as FDR did, to bring industrialization back to America and development to the world.
We give it to these young people to take forward and prevent a new world war.
U.S. Economy in Trouble: War Production Does Not Increase Productivity, Infrastructure Does!
Wall Street hedge funds are part of the economic warfare operations.
The Pentagon has created a slush fund to pay the Epstein Class bankers for war!
The Pentagon is looking for more investment bankers to strike more defense deals.
Why are investment bankers doing what procurement does?
They are looking to take on China and Russia.
The investments for the US economy is for "war unicorn" companies. To enhance war productivity.
Except that this only makes a very small percentage of bankers rich.
It doesn't help the USA, it doesn't help the world.

Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal and Palantir and key MAGA financier, is delivering a closed-door, invitation-only lecture series on the Antichrist in Rome this week—putting him on a collision course with Pope Leo XIV, the Catholic Church’s first American pontiff.
The lectures follow a blueprint from last September, when Thiel gave four talks in San Francisco arguing that existential risk rhetoric around AI would be weaponized to justify totalitarian overregulation. “The way the antichrist would take over the world is, you talk about Armageddon nonstop,” he has said. Catholic critics note the irony: Palantir’s AI targeting systems are currently in use in the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, and its Gotham platform builds searchable surveillance profiles from emails, financial records, and social media.
The Vatican’s AI adviser this week described Thiel’s career as “a prolonged act of heresy against the liberal consensus.” The Italian bishops’ newspaper Avvenire called Palantir “a Big Brother that puts Orwell’s prophecies to shame.” Theologian Massimo Faggioli was blunter: “This is an operation hostile to the papacy—part of an attempt to create an alternative American circle in Rome in competition with what Pope Leo is saying.”
Here is a British connection: The Vincenzo Gioberti Cultural Association, which is co-organizing Thiel’s lectures in Rome, was founded three years ago by Alberto Garzoni, who is currently in a PhD program at Oxford and who chairs the UK’s Catholics in the Conservative Party, FT reports.
The lecture venue is undisclosed, the guest list private, and phones are banned. Catholic institutions initially linked to the event have all denied involvement. Thiel, who bankrolled JD Vance’s political career, is the latest American alt-right figure to cultivate ties in Rome, following, most notably, Steve Bannon.
Contrast Thiel’s antichrist intervention into Rome with Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s call for the Pope to act like Nicolaus of Cusa, and you have a very clear idea of the diverging paths the world must choose between.
