Query tip: fall is a SUPER busy sub time for agents—we usually spend summer prepping manuscripts to send to editors—so if it feels like it takes longer to hear back on queries it probably does. No worries, though! As soon as we sell those manuscripts, we're back looking for more.
Want to talk about your project one-on-one? I still have a good amount of availability on my September @MSWLMA consultation calendar!

I closed to queries for a while, but I'm baaaack! A quick #MSWL note to celebrate While kidlit will always have my heart, I'm actively trying to build up the adult side of my list—so if you've got thrillers, romcoms, horror, spec and contemp fiction, I wanna see!
🪐COVER REVEAL🪐
My soul left my body when I saw Emma Hardy's cover design for MEET ME IN THE FOURTH DIMENSION (@PageStreetKids 2024), and I'm so excited to share it with the world!
I’ve come up with a million terrible nose puns, none of which are fit for Shadi’s ode to Persian noses and their ancestry of scent 🖤 One of the best parts of being an agent is all the incredible things I learn through my authors’ writing. The dream job for this nerd 🤓
It’s a good day when it’s Project-Shoutin Day! I adore the complexity, humanity, and 90s and 2000s nostalgia of AGAIN. Stories that look at the messy marriage between love and grief are some of my favorites, and this beauty is no exception. I can’t wait for the world to read it!!
Looking to jumpstart your summer writing project? I still have spaces left for @MSWLMA consultations next week and would love to hear all about it!

@rkwashburn Before making a judgement call, it’s worth asking if you were the primary target for this. If it’s not new information, instead of assuming I’m being patronizing, consider whether this will be helpful information for someone else.
@cardiganwinters @JayMoneWrites passion changes to profession—it looks like you hit it already—and the thread was aimed at writers who haven’t made that switch yet.
@cardiganwinters @JayMoneWrites I’m honestly just trying to understand. Yeah, if you’re contracted and don’t deliver work, your profession as an author will be hurt. But we were talking about how querying writers interpret agent passes, so professional writers aren’t the audience. There is a point where
