This year marks 10 years of partnership between the Spoon-billed Sandpiper science team and partners in China for SBS monitoring in Jiangsu, China. Over 30 Spoon-billed Sandpipers including [Yellow LY], and 900+ shorebirds have been marked with leg-flags this season!
This Spoonie [Yellow PU] was first flagged in Jiangsu, China in Sept-2018. It was later re-sighted in Meghna Estuary, Bangladesh where it spent the winter from Nov-2019 to Mar-2020. After that, it wasn't seen again until this summer in Chukotka, Russia! Amazing results @SBS_TF

At our #shorebird#ringing/flagging/tagging site in #Bangladesh, we usually set up floating ringing camp on a boat since most of the areas are flooded during high tide. Wonder if colleagues in other parts of the world do the same.
