It was our honor to welcome a parliamentary delegation from Northern and Central Europe to Taiwan.
Legislator Dr. Chiu Hui-ju, Secretary-General of the TPP Legislative Caucus, received the delegation and exchanged views on regional security developments, democratic resilience, and the dynamics of domestic political ecosystems.

The Taiwan People’s Party (TPP) hereby expresses its solemn protest and condemnation regarding the sudden announcement by the PLA’s Eastern Theater Command today (the 29th) to conduct the “Justice Mission-2025” military exercises around Taiwan. We reiterate that if the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persists in its attempts to utilize military force and intimidation against the people of Taiwan, such actions will not only fail to benefit cross-strait stability, regional security, or global peace, but will instead exacerbate tensions, alienate the Taiwanese public, and deepen uncertainty throughout the region.
While China speaks of peace, its continuous use of military intimidation and pressure hinders healthy cross-strait exchanges and only serves to push the Taiwanese people further away. The TPP calls on China to immediately cease these reckless provocations that undermine stability in the Taiwan Strait. China should fulfill its responsibility as a major power by committing to the maintenance of regional stability; only through such actions can it hope to gain the recognition and trust of the Taiwanese people.
On ROC Constitution Day, the TPP reaffirms that power must be checked.
Yet, the Lai administration—lacking both a popular and legislative majority—is dismantling oversight, abusing countersignature powers, and weaponizing the judiciary to bypass the Legislative Yuan.
If the rulers persist in opposing the people's will, acting dictatorially and trampling on the constitutional order, the people will ultimately reclaim the power entrusted to you. 🇹🇼

TPP Moves To #ImpeachPresidentLai
Legislative Yuan Judiciary Committee Passes Motion: Premier Cho Referred to Control Yuan for his Lawless Misconduct
President Lai is steering Taiwan toward a #GreenDictatorship by illegally directing Premier Cho to refuse countersignature. By usurping judicial power to arbitrarily block passed laws, they have shattered the spirit of separation of powers overnight.
TPP Caucus Whip KC Huang announces: The Caucus will formally file an Impeachment Motion against President Lai. In accordance with the law, we demand the President appear before the Legislative Yuan to explain himself.
Democracy is not just about elections. Demonizing legislative oversight as "opposition dictatorship" is the real authoritarianism.
The problem has never been checks and balances. The problem is a petulant #GiantBabyGovernment that disregards the law whenever it doesn't get its way.

In response to U.S. President Donald Trump signing the Taiwan Assurance Implementation Act, the Taiwan People’s Party welcomes the move and believes that the legislation will help enhance the transparency, stability, and institutionalization of Taiwan–U.S. interactions. It provides room for more resilient progress in bilateral relations and sends a clear signal of stability to the broader region.
However, we believe that Taiwan must continue to strengthen its capabilities across multiple dimensions, enhance the irreplaceability of its technology sector, and build economic resilience through a stable and sufficient energy supply. Only by possessing adequate internal strength and strategic value can pro-Taiwan measures in the international community be truly transformed into long-term and reliable security assurances.
At the same time, the opening of institutional doors does not necessarily mean Washington will immediately take substantive action. Whether the Trump administration will actively utilize these tools still depends on the evolving trajectory of U.S.–China relations. Therefore, our Government must adopt a more pragmatic diplomatic outlook, closely monitor upcoming developments in U.S.–China interactions, and maintain a firm grasp of this emerging and dynamic relationship.
