IN THE NEWS: A recent study revealed that women with Factor V Leiden gene mutation who had been prescribed estrogen had more than 2x the risk of blood clotting compared to women who without the mutation.
The study also found that a woman with obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol & kidney disease had an 8x higher chance of blood clotting compared to a woman with none of these conditions.
