Make it four straight wins for the Sudbury Wolves to start the season, tying a franchise record. Rowan Henderson with a pair to lead Sudbury to a 4-2 win over Brampton. Norman Greene and JC Lemieux also score for the Wolves. Troy Patton with both for the Steelheads.
Wolves lead the Steelheads 3-1 through two periods at the Sudbury Community Arena. Rowan Henderson’s second of the game put Sudbury ahead 3-0 but Troy Patton got one back for Brampton. Shots 10-9 for the home side in the period and 24-15 overall.
Sudbury Wolves look to tie a team record with a fourth straight win to start a new season. Tanner Adams is out with an injury and Finn Kearns is awaiting word on a suspension. Paolo Frasca starts in net against the visiting Brampton Steelheads.
A tremendous effort by the Wolves won't be enough as they fall 4-2 with an empty netter in Brantford. Sudbury outshot the league's top team 28-27 but will come home down 2-0 in the series. Wolves goals from Lemieux and Chovan on the power play. Both goalies were terrific.
Provorov gets spun around and his stick comes up and hits a Bulldog with 1:20 left in regulation. Wolves pull Frasca to go 5 on 5 and Vanacker hits the empty net for a 4-2 lead.
Under three minutes to go with the Bulldogs still up 3-2. Wolves pushing for the equalizer but Brantford content to flip to the neutral zone repeatedly.
Wolves need a big third in Brantford, trailing 3-2 in Game 2. Sudbury tied it at 13:37 at the tail end of Ben Danford's five minute major for a check from behind on Rowan Henderson. However, Philip Govedaris restored the lead a minute and a half later.
