No, classical dispensationalism isn't heresy in any sense. The H word is so overused nowadays. If anything, some dispensationalists trend towards the heterodox, but outright heresy is not endemic to the system. The only dispy folks i'd say trend on heresy are the Les Feldick's and Robert Breakers of the world. But they are fringe.
So here Chrysostom explains that God stood over man in wrath because of sin and was about to punish them (i.e., retributive justice), but in order to allay this, He gave His Son to die on the cross. That sounds very PSA.
"LOL! So he SAYS that God was standing over mankind in wrath and in their stead He gave His Son, but he does not MEAN Christ suffered our punishment to expiate our guilt out of need for satisfying His justice. Perish the thought! He used these terms and phrases, but what he meant underneath is that God judged death in Christ, and He never proposed the cross as a way to propitiate His wrath."
Can't it be both? Namely, that God satisfies His own justice in the cross and also defeats death at the same time?
"No, such a duality is not allowed."
So then why does Chrysostom use PSA language?
"He doesn't mean what he says. His mind is working differently from yours."
Let me ask you this. Would you ever do the same thing?
"Do what?"
Use PSA language to convey a purely and strictly medical meaning?
"No."
So why does St. John Chrysostom do that?
"......"
"........"
"....... what matters is this - he meant that death is being judged and vanquished, and that Christ won the contest against mankind."
I agree. We all ought to study to show ourselves approved in all matters of faith and practice, looking to lead others to Christ and not astray- hence why the teaching office is heavily scrutinized.
I fear most people want to score points more so than they want to discern and propagate the truth.
The latter part of your post is my problem too. I also am ignorant of much. The issue is that though Cleave purports himself to be the good catechumen, yet he turns around and stokes the internet flames with slop like the post we reacted to. Also for being a former protestant, he seems to be quite incapable of steel-manning his protestant interlocutors.
"If no infallible interpretation exists, then no objective truth in scripture exists".
This is just a classic non-sequitur. There are no infallible interpretations of scientific truths, like the round earth, and yet this truth is objective. This particular fact remains so despite the fallible nature of it's human interpreters. The nature of a truth claim is not dependent upon it's interpreter.

If Protestantism is true, then the Bible lied and Christianity is false:
Protestants hold to Sola Scriptura “The Bible Alone” as their sole infallible authority for matters of faith, and claim no tradition or interpretation is infallible.
If no infallible tradition or interpretation is possible, then there is no objective truth in matters of interpretation of the scripture.
If this is the case the Bible lied when it declared “The Church is the ground and pillar of truth.” (1 Timothy 3:15)
If the scripture lied, the author is a false prophet according to the standards of scripture. (Deuteronomy 18:22)
Which would disprove Christianity itself.
@vivineonya@cherrypepsixo Many people care, because she literally celebrated the abortion, beyond just declaring it. The post was a especially appalling. And as far as bodily autonomy goes, did the unborn child have rights to said autonomy, or does that only apply when its convenient?
How could someone celebrate the ending of something precious? How do they sleep at night? Many, like myself, would love to have children; and there are scores of degenerates like this person who discard them like a used napkin.
Reading comprehension is not your strong suit. I never said *you* would be upset if you were aborted. I said the lives of those around you would be impacted, and this is true. Your friends never would've laughed with you, your significant other never would've met you, etc. Life has intrinsic value whether you care to admit it or not, which is obvious you do not care since you threw an innocent one away. God will be your judge, be sure of that.
@vivineonya@cherrypepsixo Notice I never asked what she would think- I said "wouldn't that be tragic?" Because any normal person would say yes. Her family, her boyfriend, her friends etc would be deprived her existence. It's funny how the loudest voices for baby murder seem to quite like being alive.
Genuinely can't tell if you are ragebaiting for clicks, you're that ridiculous. You were also once a "useless clump of cells" in your words. Yet now you have the sentient mental acuity to decide the fate of another being. What if your mother had done so to you? Would that not be tragic?
