Good BH weekend?
Out and about this morning, photo shoot with new Patrons Radius CEO, Lee Everett, Chris Woolnough, Chris Revenue Officer & Chamber Chair, Robert Parton.
Fantastic asset for Crewe, global reach with a local feel. We’re delighted to have them on board as Patrons
Small and medium sized businesses are the beating heart of our local economy.
I can't wait to get to work with @SCheshChamber and others to deliver for Crewe and Nantwich.
Congratulations to @connor_naismith on becoming the MP for Crewe & Nantwich.
The Chamber and I will be working with Connor to help the area achieve its potential and provide an environment for our businesses to prosper.
🏆 The stage is set! We’re just a few hours away from the South Cheshire Chamber Business Awards 2023!

We’ve had “Northern Powerhouse” & “Levelling up”. Well we have another slogan to discuss “Network North”.
Economic facts of HS2 are still relevant. The network needs additional capacity to cater for freight to be moved up & down the country. It’s not just about high speed rail
Let’s hope the speculation to cancel phase 2 is incorrect. There has been uproar from the private and public sector in North since this speculation has arisen. The PM must listen and continue to build this much needed infrastructure.
In a joint statement today, our leader and deputy leader have responded to the continued speculation around the future of HS2 north of Birmingham & Northern Powerhouse Rail: https://t.co/3IJYHFeZF6
Michael Heseltine and I both welcome the seriousness that Sunak has restored to No10. We’ve both delivered big infrastructure when money is tight. We write @thetimes on why cancelling HS2 would be an economic disaster + a betrayal of the north
https://t.co/PheCQmJEYM
Hard to believe that the PM and his Gov could derail HS2 phase 2. No one in the North saw this decision coming, which tells you how monumental a decision stopping the development of phase 2 would be. Saving money? The consequences of not building it will be even more costly
I think it's vital we stay the course on HS2! It has huge potential to tackle levelling up, a problem generations in the making which is still acute...London has bounced back more strongly than the rest of the UK post pandemic 1/3 https://t.co/yJRD2xOw0N
Scrapping HS2 phase 2 would be a disgrace. @AndyBurnhamGM is spot on. We desperately need this infrastructure to support levelling up.
It’s not just about speed it’s about capacity and local lines being freed up and the movement of freight.
"Why is it that people in the north are always forced to choose? Why are we always treated as second-class citizens when it comes to transport?" Mayor of Greater Manchester @AndyBurnhamGM asks.

Currently at the High Speed Rail group conference @Crewe_Hall finding out the latest on HS2 and how it’ll impact the local area. Fantastic opportunity for the area and we can start taking advantage of it now.

Early start this morning, heading down to the capital for the @britishchambers Global Annual Conference 2023
Excellent speech from @BCCShevaun who reminded us all of the importance of the Chamber network. #local#National#global
We have recently launched two new maps on our website highlighting our comprehensive network of 53 UK Accredited Chambers and 79 British Chambers of Commerce and business groups across the world.🗺

It was a disappointing day for Crewe and South Cheshire losing out to Derby as the home of Great British Railways.
I’d like to thank all the @SCheshChamber businesses who voted and backed the bid.
While not successful, Crewe and South Cheshire has a bright future.
Derby is the home of Rolls-Royce, hot dogs, Lara Croft…and now Great British Railways! 🚉
But it’s not just a win for #Derby – GBR will level up our railways across Great Britain.

Excellent news this morning. @SCheshChamber Patrons @BentleyMotors have recorded their best results in company history.
Synonymous with Crewe and the wider region it’s a testament to all those involved including the tremendously skilled workforce based in the town.
Very disappointing news for @SCheshChamber business community and area. Delays will simply mean we don’t reap the benefits of the infrastructure project sooner.
Difficult for businesses and local regeneration boards to plan for the future when there are ongoing changes.
HS2 is the UK's biggest infrastructure project, which is supposed to transform public transport between London, the Midlands and the North.
But it is becoming synonymous with disappointment, delays and an enormous bill

.@Everything_Dino, who won the Excellence In Customer Service Award at the SCCCI Business Awards 2022, have had quite the journey. Find out how this local company grew a global customer base. We’re proud to be helping them with their exporting 🦕🦖https://t.co/LZVHPkbtgw
@BCCShevaun: "The Chancellor has stayed true to his word in focusing on financial stability and targeting support for the most vulnerable in society. But in the teeth of a recession, this statement will not increase business confidence."
