SCDOT contractors are finishing up roadwork in Dorchester County!
SC 61 is getting five miles of safety improvements, between SC 165 and US 17A. Those upgrades include repaving, which is actively being completed along the route.
Work is expected to finish by the end of August.
Crews have placed new bridge spans for the bridge replacement project happening on Pace Bridge Road in Greenville County.
Crews are raising the bridge by 3 feet to make sure this bridge is sturdy for years to come. The project is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

Crews in Kershaw County are hard at work building the new I-20 bridge over Wateree. They are completing the concrete deckย and placing reinforcementย steel for the concrete median barrier wall.
Traffic will be moved onto the new bridge structure later this year!
On US 301 in Orangeburg, SCDOT contractors are in the middle of a project to replace the northbound and southbound bridges over the North Edisto River.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
SCDOT has secured a $23.5 million federal BUILD grant to replace 18 aging bridges across nine counties, helping create a safer, stronger, and more reliable transportation network for drivers statewide.

SCDOT is making progress on a project to repave four miles of SC 421 (Augusta Road) between Warrenville and Langley.
Soon, crews will begin installing permanent pavement markings and finishing repair work on the sidewalks.
TRAFFIC UPDATE: One lane of I-85 southbound at the SC/GA state line is now open after an overturned truck completely blocked the bridge earlier today.
The lane will remain open until 7 p.m. to help with the evening commute.
At 7 p.m., I-85 southbound will fully close so crews can repair damaged pavement and guardrail. Our goal is to fully reopen all lanes by 7 a.m. tomorrow.
