Recently, Emergency Service Section Officers participated in an ice rescue exercise in Lake Ronkonkoma.

On June 24th, newly assigned Marine Bureau officers received training in response to medical emergencies in the Barrier Beach communities and on the water. Topics included emergency medical care, documentation, transport decisions, landing zone safety and helo loading procedures.

SCPD K9 is one of the department’s specialized units.
A group of prospective Canine officers came to the Canine grounds today to learn more about the section and participate in the screening process.
The SCPD relies on the officers of the Emergency Service Section who engage in both high-risk and highly technical operations during the most challenging incidents.
The command recently welcomed new officers who have begun a training.
