SCRIP sponsored Green Drinks event starting at 6:30 tonight at the Crow’s Nest. Come on down for some apps, cash bar, and cake to mark our 30th Anniversary. Donations at door will be added to the Stonycreek AMD Treatment System Trust Fund which helps keep the Stony alive.

This morning, SCRIP sponsored beginner kayak training at the Quemahoning Family Recreation Area instructed by the ⁦@fishandboat⁩. The rain held off, the lake was like glass, and 17 people took advantage of the training. Thanks to everyone who volunteered and attended.

Little late notice, but SCRIP will be having their Sept meeting at Greenhouse Park in Johnstown at 3PM on Thursday the 17th. Big topic is the proposed Shade Creek Mine Drainage Active Treatment Plant. Hope to see you there.

SCRIP will be holding their first meeting since Covid-19 on Thursday, July 16 beginning at 3PM at Greenhouse Park. Bring a chair to maintain social distancing guidelines. Hope to see you there.

If numbers improve related to Covid-19, we may reschedule the meeting for sometime in April. The officers will reconvene in a couple of weeks and decide. Hoping everyone is well. Stay safe.

For the safety of our board and membership, we have decided to cancel the SCRIP meeting scheduled for this Thursday. The only pressing issue is the status of the Shade Creek Treatment Plant. We plan to get an update and will notify the board and membership of any news.

SCRIP’s next meeting will be on March 19th 400PM at @CoalCountryBrew in #Ebensburg. Come on out and learn about the measures SCRIP is taking to improve our area rivers and keep them clean, while at the same time, enjoying some good local beers that honor our #mining heritage.

These #reforestation projects are gaining steam throughout the Commonwealth and its great to see one occurring in our focus watershed. PEC will be having an online registration shortly. We will inform you when that is available. Lat/long on bottom right of attached map.

On May 9th, @PECPA will be hosting a volunteer #tree planting event in the headwaters of the S. Fork Little #Conemaugh on a former surface #mine site. 1500 seedlings will be planted on about 2 acres of land. Contracters will be planting an additional 25k trees on 38 acres.
