Governor @henrymcmaster is right:
“The rules on joint and several liability have introduced an element of uncertainty in our State. And uncertainty is the enemy of prosperity.”
It’s time to stand for South Carolina. It’s time to pass S. 244.
South Carolina retailers are thankful for the strong partnerships we have with @AGAlanWilson, our solicitors, and law enforcement!
Earlier this week, we stood together to commit to enforce laws on organized retail crime and hold these criminals accountable.
South Carolina just took a major step to crack down on organized retail crime—making ORC a felony, increasing penalties, and giving prosecutors the tools to take down entire crime networks.
I’ve fought this fight in SC and nationally, co-leading a bipartisan, 38-state push to demand stronger federal action. ORC is fueling drug & human trafficking, and these violent theft rings must be stopped.
Thank you to Rep. Jeff Johnson, Solicitor Stumbo & the @SCRetailAssn for standing with us today. We’re ready to enforce this law and protect SC businesses, workers & shoppers!
🚨 SC House Republican Caucus is CRACKING DOWN on organized retail crime!
No more soft-on-crime policies. No more revolving door for criminals. Today we passed H.3523, which gives law enforcement the tools to take down smash-and-grab gangs, punish repeat offenders, and protect South Carolina businesses.
This is what real law and order leadership looks like. SC House Republicans are delivering on our Pillars of Progress—prioritizing public safety, standing with law enforcement, and ensuring criminals face real consequences.
Congratulations to Representative Jeff Johnson, who received the @CarolinasORCA Organized Retail Crime Alliance - Legislator Award for his work in support of retailers and law enforcement against organized retail crime!
Thank you, Rep. Johnson! #FightRetailCrimeDay
