1st graders at MTP learned all about the life cycles of various insects. As a culminating activity, students performed an end of the year show for their families called The BUGZ Show. Their performance was full of singing, dancing, & lots of adorable bugs. @SmithtownCSD@SCSD_MTP
5th grade Egg Drop, was "eggscellent"! Students worked hard designing a strong container for an egg to survive a drop from a 50-foot fire truck ladder. 19 eggs survived! Great job, thank you to our local Fire Department for helping launch our eggs. @SmithtownCSD@SCSD_MTP

AROUND THE WORLD PUPPET SHOW. 2nd graders put on an educational puppet show for their families. This is an extension of the social studies curriculum when students research different countries & present various tales. Students also made their own puppets. @SmithtownCSD@SCSD_MTP
MTP Kindergarten Orientation was fun for all. Incoming students met teachers, enjoyed a story, made a craft and even rode the bus! While parents had a welcome meeting with Principal, Joe Ierano. Thank you to our PTA for all the help.

HSW Leadership students visited 4th grade for a celebration honoring our nation’s 250th birthday! As part of this celebration, they reflected on the past & looked ahead to the future by writing letters to someone living in 1976 & to their future selves. @SmithtownCSD@SCSD_MTP
Second graders researched dinosaurs, & created beautiful "Dino Dioramas". Students shared their dinosaur knowledge with family members at their Dinosaur Show. It was an amazing performance full of dino facts, jokes, songs & even dancing. It was Dinomite! @SmithtownCSD@SCSD_MTP
Bob “Dinoman” Lisaius visits 2nd grade. Students had a blast & many laughs taking a trip throughout the Mesozoic Era learning about dinosaurs, their behaviors & fossils. After the show, fossils were passed around for students to examine and ask questions. @SmithtownCSD@SCSD_MTP
