EXCITING UPDATE: HB 4255 passed the Senate (51-4) today and now awaits the governor’s signature! This bill would ensure nonhuman primates, bears, & most big cats do not have to endure the life of deprivation & brutality that animals experience in the circus.

Illinois had already banned the use of elephants in traveling animal acts, but now Bill 4255 would expand this list to include cougars, jaguars, leopards, lions, tigers, nonhuman primates & bears.

Italian animal trainer Stefano Orfei said he will no longer perform with animals. He reportedly handed over four lionesses to the Animanatura Wild Sanctuary, Italy. We call on other circus animal presenters to follow in his footsteps. It’s the right thing to do, for the animals.

NEWS FROM COLOMBIA!🎪Citizens filed a lawsuit urging the country’s law, (Law 1638/13, promoted by ADI and passed in 2013) that bans wild animals in circuses to also include domestic animals. This could be an opportunity to protect more animals from the suffering of circus life.
