This week, the SC State 1890 Extension Pee Dee Region hosted the Community and Economic Development Business Planning Bootcamp, an intensive five-week course designed to help participants develop business plans and grow their small businesses and farms. π
Congratulations to all participants who successfully completed the bootcamp, and special congratulations to Sentrella Mcphail, founder of Surroundance Medical Solutions, who was awarded the programβs $10,000 prize. π

This monthβs episode of Growing Palmetto highlights SC State 1890βs Education, Innovation and Support (EIS) program, led by Sydney Keith, state program leader.
As part of the dayβs activities, SC State 1890 Family, Nutrition and Health agent Brandy Jacques will lead a live and informative cooking demonstration, highlighting healthy food preparation and nutrition education.
The Charleston community is invited to the fourth annual Nourishing Neighbors Health and Wellness Resource Fair, a free event focused on promoting health, wellness and community unity, on May 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Trident Technical Collegeβs Palmer Campus. π«±πΌβπ«²π½
Hosted in collaboration with the Charleston Police Department and the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, the event will connect residents with valuable information and referral services in areas including mental health, medical care, and other community resources.
