The faba bean aphid season has officially started. FBAs have been found on fabas in NSW and Vic, with colonies in patches. Regularly monitor your crop, they can spread rapidly with the wind.

@matthew_sparke @JasonBrand @Sara_N_Blake and I scored botrytis there 18th Aug. PBA Amberley a clear winner out of the varieties, as expected. Low levels of cerco and a few spots of asco in susceptible lines observed but not worth scoring.

Cercospora leaf spot on faba bean crops around Bordertown (SA & Vic) has been reported. @CropWatchSA

Soil borne disease, more common in paddocks with long term bean cropping & promoted by rain (eg. June rainfall).
