The cost of living crisis has broken our social contract.

Something to think about.

CArney just announced a major hydro-electric project in Quebec. Ottawa is set to invest $20 billion.

Albertans will be paying a huge chuck of that. Once built, the power from that project won't be included in Quebec's equalization determination formula.

Albertans will be paying twice. Once for the project, and again (many times) for the equalization.

Alberta has to include its oil when determining its fiscal capacity, but Quebec doesn't have to include its hydro power.

They're from Toronto or Ottawa. Both were civil servants. Retired with a golden pension. Voted Liberal all their life. Enjoyed living beyond their means. Cheered policies that made it too expensive to continue living in their city. Sold their primary residence for a very nice profit. Moved to Red Deer because it's cheep and beautiful. Now they want to bring everything that they fled here in Alberta.
