@nufcpb We were absolutely done. Of course signing Trippier, Bruno, Targett and Burn made a huge difference but there was nothing guaranteed about staying up. He'd already got us winning without Bruno starting games.

@MikeyW89 @KevClem25 @Nusc2023 My nephew (18) is taking every chance to get one (Palace away by himself last season for example). He hasn't had years to build up pts. In hindsight I'd have taken him with me to more pre-takeover but that's not his fault. He'll be lucky to get 1 or 2 more this season.

@fewpints No myth at all. He was exceptional. Easily the best defender I've seen in my lifetime (and good on the ball). Colo had some excellent periods but also bad ones. Schar has aged like a fine wine but one v one in defensive situations is not in Woodgate's class

@dan_jr1987 Net spend since Saudis took over will be comparatively high compared to other clubs though as apart from ASM, we've barely been able to sell any. So many players still on our books not perhaps on highest of wages but still significant - Hendrick, Fraser, Hayden, Ritchie etc

@jonathanliew Yes we were extremely fortunate they missed multiple chances but that's not our fault. That's how football works. Doesn't mean they deserve to be essentially given a goal for nothing. Showing your true colours here. Almost as bitter as @MiguelDelaney

@Magpie24_7 Schar definitely. Realistically we need to extend Lascelles, Dummett and Krafth for another year (can't believe I'm saying that but we have such poor depth in defence, especially CB). Time for Ritchie and Manq to go. Gillespie and Karius. Not fussed on either way.
