Fantastic news was shared by Dr @hugh_reeve who has put a £250,000 bid into the @HealthFdn to improve Continuity of Care in General Practice. Out of 166 applicants we are down to the final few & find out if we have been successful by the end of next week #Cumbria#PatientCare
At the meeting we spoke about the savings @UHMBProcurement can make for our member practices in South #Cumbria.
Not only are practices in Furness making significant savings on printer toners & drums but there is also an opportunity for cheap mobile phone contracts as well #GPnews
An interesting presentation was given by Dr Adam Joiner at yesterday's South Lakes Locality Meeting.
He updated everybody on Psychiatry UK - an online psychiatry service which aims to provide ADHD support to patients in #Cumbria#ADHD#mentalhealth#healthcare
Great meeting with Jim Collins, Head of @UHMBProcurement yesterday.
Together we aim to bring significant #savings to our member practices while retaining high quality products. The Furness practices are already pleased with the savings made on printer toners & drums #GPnews
A few proposals from Retinue Health on tackling the Locum difficulty in General Practice is to:
*Standardise session requirements across practices
*Agree sessional pay rate and commission
*Utilise current GPs to initiate the creation of the managed bank, providing continuity.
Nationally:
28% of GP practices have at least 1 GP vacancy
75% of GP practices report difficulty finding Locum cover
20% reduction in the number of Doctors choosing to train as GPs (2008-2017)
We need to tackle these issues together.

We’re at Ulverston Health Centre this morning listening to a presentation by Retinue Heath about their GP Locum Project.
They are the Managed Service Provider for @UHMBT

If practices don't yet wish to sign up to the LES for Simple Post-op Dressings then there is no pressure to do so. We are eventually aiming to see Simple Post-op Dressings being dealt with in General Practice and Complex Dressings undertaken by District Nurses. #GPnews#Cumbria
The roll out of the LES for Simple Post-Op Dressings will be done in phases and will be closely monitored to ensure everything runs smoothly. The overall aim of this project is to improve the quality of care for the #patients#Cumbria#healthcare#collaboration#GPnews
Following a great deal of hard work and many meetings we are pleased to announce that the LES for Simple Post-Op Dressings will be rolled out in South #Cumbria on October 1st. Any surgery who signs up will receive £10.04 per Simple Post-Op dressing undertaken. #collaboration

As we reach the end of the summer holidays we need to replenish supplies of UHT fruit juice, jam, tinned fruit, sponge puddings, tea bags and coffee. Please help if you can.
Last Thursday we had a productive GP Provider Alliance meeting with @LancsNorthGPfed & @nwlmcs and we have now agreed who will attend the key groups within the Bay Health & Care Partners Governance Framework.
