One of our Brazilian white-knee tarantulas (Acanthoscurria geniculata) having a quick meal. These beauties are fed an adult cricket once a week. They're fast and aggressive when it comes to prey and can easily capture something bigger than themselves.

New Zoo Babies alert! 🚨 Female emperor scorpions have a gestation period of 7-10 months & have 5-25 offspring called, “scorplings.” The young, all white, scorpions will climb onto their mothers back where they will remain for about 2 weeks before completing their first molt 🦂

Here's a Magnolia Green Jumper (Lyssomanes viridis) and her clutch of beautiful green eggs that I discovered beneath a rhododendron leaf in my back yard. I didn't know momma jumpers guard their eggs! I was glad my activity didn't scare her off. Happy #Arachtober 27b! #Lyssomanes
